Ha, I bet you thought this ski was going to be 89 millimeters wide at the waist. Surprise, it's actually exactly the same as the men's version at 90 millimeters, but don't be put off. 90 mm is the perfect width for the woman who spends roughly 70 to 80 percent of her time on groomers but doesn't want to be left out of the fun on a powder day. Is this you? The Fischer Ranger 89 Skis come through in the clutch with confidence-inspiring performance on prepared snow and versatile easy turns in deeper conditions. You'll also love the fact that this all mountain ski is substantially lighter than skis with this level of performance have typically been, due to Fischer's use of their unique milled Air Tech Ti core and carbon tip.
Freeski Rocker – Tip and tail rocker with reduced camber for smooth performance and ease of turning.
Tapered Tip and Tail
Aeroshape – The topsheet of the ski forms a broad sphere, leaving the ski thickness normal in the center but radically reduced at the edges in the tip and tail. This shape not only reduces mass, but increases torsional strength and leaves a streamlined side profile in soft snow.
Poplar Wood Core – Naturally lightweight and snappy core; sustainably harvested
Air Tec Ti Wood Core – Fischer brings their patented Nordic technology to alpine skis in this elaborate, offset milling structure which reduces core weight by 25% without affecting flex or torsion.
Titanal Shell – A curved shell of Titanal metal wraps the top surface of the milled Air Tech Ti core.
Carbon Nose – Visually striking use of lightweight carbon laminate in the nose of the ski allows the ski tip to be extremely thin and lowers vibrating mass at speed.
Sandwich Sidewall Construction – Wood core combined with ABS sidewalls in a classic Sandwich Construction for balanced flex and perfect rebound.
Sintered Graphite Base
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
