Faction Thirteen Skis 2011: Need a ski that is bigger, stiffer, straighter and likes to rock? Then surely you got to take your lead from the big man, Gene Simmons. The Factiob Thirteen Skis are designed for those who want a high performance big mountain ski. A ski that is stiff and stable at serious speed and no excuses for holding back with the rockered tip to take you over the crud and through the powder. Artwork by Taka Sudo
Shape
Big-mountain Rocker: tip rocker and flat camber through the Thirteen together with a very firm flex give maximum float and feel at speed - 10/300mm tip rocker, zero camber underfoot.
Construction
Rider-Centric Technology: the dimensions, specs, materials, cores and flexes of all Faction skis are designed around rider specifications, not market segments. This way, the products benefit from the best performance possible with maximum versatility.
The Echo Initiative: the production house, logistics and offices are all assessed for compliance to ISO 14001, and Faction is initiating projects in select resorts to start reclaiming and recycling old skis as part of its environmental policy.

        Take these planks to drop straight down huge Alaska-style vertical, where you don't care about turning too often. Don't take these to cushion-y Utah Powder - you'll be knee high all day, with little control. And don't take them anywhere else you might have obstacles closer than 30 feet apart since turning (smoothly) is like cornering a 1970 Caddy.

        Wow. How Fun! Early rise makes riding this big ski easy. Mounted 4 forward and took them everywhere at Snowmass, Ajax and Highlands. Can do steeps with great hold, trees and bumps (I'm not a groomer skier). Their lack of sidecut and big enough dimensions make it all possible. Big sidecut with fat tips and relatively narrow waist makes tight spots like bumps and tight trees harder for me and the long edge contact make ice grip confidence inspiring albeit a bit dull feeling as you get home or to the next fun spot. Gene always gets a look in the lift/tram line...
