Who says your everyday ski has to be sub-110 in the waist? The Faction Chapter 116 Skis, with a five point sidecut and transition zone technology, packs in a host of features that will keep you happy when conditions are firm without sacrificing performance in powder. Roll these suckers on edge and watch them track; you'll feel like you've got a swollen slalom ski on your feet. And when things get wintery, and the boys are all keyed up to send big, the Faction Chapter 116 Skis will keep you bouncing around and driving turns through the light and fluffy.
Rocker / Camber / Rocker – 10 mm rocker in the tip / 2 mm camber underfoot / 5 mm rocker in the tail
Flex Rating: 5 (1 Soft - 6 Stiff) – Stiff flex for steeper terrain and reliable feel at high speeds.
Five Point Sidecut – Five point sidecut technology pulls back the contact point at the tip and tail to create a shorter sidecut section underfoot and take weight out of the extremities of the ski. This helps create a ski that feels small and nimble on piste, whilst retaining the float of a longer ski off-piste.
Medium Turning Radius – Medium turn radius for versatility at all speeds and a consistent turn that won't buck or track unexpectedly.
Transition Zone Technology – Faction's Blended Transition Zones use complex curve geometries where both positive/negative sidecut and rocker/camber meet to make turn initiation fluid without losing stable control in all snow conditions.
Poplar / Ash Core – Poplar is a medium-weight, damp, vibration-absorbing softwood. Ash is a heavier hardwood that compliments the Poplar by increasing stiffness, responsiveness and providing a solid base for the binding screws.
Bi-Axial/ Tri-axial Fiberglass – Fiberglass is used in two different formats to aid the compressional strength of the core and esnusre long-lasting pop.
Gloss ICP8210 Topsheet – ICP8210 topsheets have a natural high-gloss finish which avoids the need for lacquer and helps the ski look better for longer. Better for the workers in the factory and better for the environment. A small but highly impactful change.
Sandwich Construction – Used on most Faction skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Die-Cut PTEX 4000 – Used on most Faction skis. Sintered PTEX 4000 base material is more porous and holds wax better than PTEX 2000.
1.8 mm Edges – Used on 99% of Faction's skis, the 1.8 mm hardened steel edges are strong and dependable.
Digital Printing – Used on Faction's core and women's models, digital printing provides greater flexibility for designing complex graphics and requires no setup process, however the colors are not as bright or strong as the silkscreen method.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
