The Faction Candide 3.0 Skis are ideal for the multi-faceted skier in search of pow, and are just as comfortable skiing glorious fluff to what looked like a great chute until closer inspection. Because sluffed-out coulies and ice are a thing, and we can't all go heli-skiing, the Candide 3.0 is there for you, with 1 mm camber and a full sidewall construction for solid edging on the hard stuff. Plus, the ultra-light balsa/flax core means you will notice a difference in swing weight and leg fatigue. Flowing from the best lines of the season in the morning, to the chopped up stuff of the afternoon without skipping a beat, the Faction Candide 3.0 holds it down.
1 mm Camber – Positive turn initiation on-piste, quick edge-response off-piste.
L Tip Rocker – 10 mm of Rocker over 200 mm of length.
M Tail Rocker – 5 mm of Rocker over 150 mm of length.
Medium-Stiff Flex – Stable, solid ride at speed. Less forgiving than a softer ski.
Full Length Sidecut – Classic, smooth sidecut for full contact when edging in all conditions.
Lightweight Freeride Twin – Light and nimble for it's size, ideal for chutes, spines and pow but comfortable all over the mountain.
Balsa/Flax Core – Balsa is an exceptionally light hardwood. Laminated vertically together divided by strips of woven flax (also known as linseed), to provide additional torsional and compression strength. Lighter than Poplar/Ash but more expensive.
Matte EC4060 Topsheet – Matte EC4060 topsheets require no lacquering, saving around 100gm / pair, and reduces the use of not-quite-environmentally friendly lacquer. It also shows through the natural structure of the underlying laminate layers.
Phenol Binding Plate – Phenol is a hard plastic material that secures the binding screws. The one-piece design fits most touring bindings with centre screws.
Fibreglass – Laminates like fibreglass are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
Sandwich Construction – Used on most Faction skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Die-Cut Ptex 4000 – Sintered PTEX 4000 base material is more porous and holds wax better than PTEX 2000.
1.8 mm Edges – Used on 99% of Faction skis, the 1.8 mm hardened steel edges are strong and dependable.
Silkscreen Printing – Used on 90% of Faction skis, silkscreen printing provides bright, strong colours that help our skis pop in-store and on-snow. Unlike the sublimation process used by many competitors, very little waste is created using this method, and water-based inks are used to reduce environmental impacts.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
