If you find yourself dabbling in all walks of ski life, the Faction Candide 2.0 Skis are highly recommended. A symmetrical shape and 102 mm waist are just perfect for backcountry booter switch landings, or buttering down the mountain à la Adam Delorme. The combination of poplar and ash in the core creates that just right amount of dampness and pop, while the carbon reinforcement and sidewall construction ensure tenacious grip on icy days. Do yourself with the do it all Faction Candide 2.0 Skis. *Note: This is a factory blem ski and may have slight cosmetic damage.*
1 mm Camber – Positive turn initiation on-piste, quick edge-response off-piste.
L Tip Rocker – 10 mm of Rocker over 200 mm of length.
M Tail Rocker – 5 mm of Rocker over 150 mm of length.
Tip & Tail Rocker – Tip & Tail Rocker with varying amounts of camber underfoot gives maximum versatility and float off-piste.
Medium Flex – A comfortable flex for intermediates through expert skiers.
Full Length Sidecut – Classic, smooth sidecut for full contact when edging in all conditions.
All-Mountain Twin – A wider all-mountain platform that retains a symmetrical shape, ideal for freeriding and backcountry freestyle.
Poplar / Ash Core – Faction's standard core material. Poplar is a medium-weight, damp, vibration-absorbing softwood. Ash is a heavier hardwood that compliments the Poplar by increasing stiffness, responsiveness and providing a solid base for the binding screws.
Matte EC4060 Topsheet – Matte EC4060 topsheets require no lacquering, saving around 100gm / pair, and reduces the use of not-quite-environmentally friendly lacquer. It also shows through the natural structure of the underlying laminate layers.
Fibreglass – Laminates like fibreglass are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
Carbon Reinforcing – Used to provide additional strength to the core against use on rails.
Sandwich Construction – Used on most Faction skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Die-Cut Ptex 4000 – Sintered PTEX 4000 base material is more porous and holds wax better than PTEX 2000.
1.8 mm Edges – Used on 99% of Faction skis, the 1.8 mm hardened steel edges are strong and dependable.
Silkscreen Printing – Used on 90% of Faction skis, silkscreen printing provides bright, strong colours that help our skis pop in-store and on-snow. Unlike the sublimation process used by many competitors, very little waste is created using this method, and water-based inks are used to reduce environmental impacts.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
