Comments about Dynastar Speed Course Skis + NX12 Fluid Bindings 2011:

After only a few moderate days skiing on groomers, the top surface of the ski began to show considerable wear at the tips. This is a design flaw. It doesn't affect the ski performance however. Cosmetic wear that is more rapid than anticipated is a bummer when you get new skis!

My second pair of Dynastar skis. Great construction, will last a long time with minimal care. They hold an edge well, turn in easily and are fairly speedy. Great ski for the intermediate to advanced skier.

They are awesome to bomb down groomed runs, and not so groomed if your knees can take it. They carve quite precisely, but have some attitude on moguls..only compared to other, twin tipped, lighter skis.

Comments about Dynastar Speed Course Skis + NX12 Fluid Bindings 2011:

These were the perfect find for me. I have been skiing for 45+ years and have not been able to part with upwards of $1000 for a new pair of skis. I have alternated between renting performance demos and using my old 203cm Coyotes. I stumbled on EVO on the internet while researching brands and models and my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw these. I have always been a Dynastar fan, and I'm a big guy so when I saw they had 184's available I almost burned up the keyboard ordering them. The $5 shipping was great, and they showed up in 3 days. Took about 5 minutes to mount the bindings and I was off to Bogus! The day they showed up there was 7-10 inches of fresh, so day 1 was powder. The tips seem to float really well, and I was turning like I was 25 again. Powder wasn't what I bought these for, but they worked great. Next time out was packed powder and some hardpack. Edges hold well and it's a good carver. Nice and stable at high speed, none of that edgy feeling you get with a hyper slalom ski. 3rd time was at night after a warm day, so it was pretty icy. Edge hold was decent, but not like a serious gs ski. Now, these have not been tuned since I've had them, so that would probably make an improvement on the ice. Now I don't mean to bash them, performance on ice is ok, just not like a freshly tuned race ski. I'm anxious to get them tuned and see what that does. Overall this is a great all mountain ski for me, and for [$] delivered to my front door, it's a steal! Not only would I recommend to a friend, I called a buddy when I was ordering these and he ordered them on the spot.

Comments about Dynastar Speed Course Skis + NX12 Fluid Bindings 2011:

Up to now I've never been on skis that hold edge w/o slipping. These Dynastars do exactly this: you tell them to turn they turn. I was a bit uneasy as everybody was saying these skis are rated as GS and they can't be used for short radius turns, but I can pretty much turn them anyway I want, although there is a bit of unforgiving trait, but not too much. They are very lightweight and at the same time pretty stiff (especially considering the lack of metal in the body). They are insanely stable at high speeds. I have not tried them on moguls and in powder, but most likely they will do just fine in former but not the latter considering 71 mm waist. I am male 5'9"/165 lbs, got the 178cm and made the right choice.
Additional info: it seems that this particular model is the de-tuned one (no titanium inserts), which is slated for the European market and intermediate/advanced (as opposed to expert/pro) - you can see the 2012's if you go to Dynastar's web site and select any European country.

              Awesome skis!

Skied all types of surfaces fron hard pack to soft snow. Skis have great stability. Hold the surface extremely well. Advertised as a race ski but I think they could be classified also as an all terrain ski. On a groomed surface they take the skier to a new level, fast, faster and fastest.

Comments about Dynastar Speed Course Skis + NX12 Fluid Bindings 2011:

Most of my current skis are fat big mtn or rocker powder skis and I was looking for a good carving ski not limited to race applications. I found it in this ski. It has a softer tip than their race skis (yet not as soft as a powder ski). The 72 mm underfoot gets on edge with lightning speed and the ski holds that edge though the turns. I've also skied them in bumps and the relative soft tip and quick turning works well.

Anothter benefit is the binding system. It attaches to a rail above the ski to allow the ski to flex properly. It also allows you to set up the binding w/o a ski shop. The toe piece is marked for position to boot sole length. Then the heelpiece has a window with an indicator. Position the heelpiece and click in the boot and then verify the indicator is in the middle of the window. This ensures that you have to proper presurre with the boot clicked in. They even came set to my din setting.

Verify happy with my purchase especially at the price.
