Dynastar Serial Team Skis - Boy's 2014

Give your grom the gift of shred with the Dynastar Serial Team Skis. Designed and handmade in the French Alps for kids who are quickly exceeding the on-piste skiing level of the adults, the Serial Teams are built tough with a wood core and sandwich laminate construction for excellent forgiveness, response and durability.
Rocker Type
Twin Rocker - Long, progressive rockers in the tip and tail, with a more radical height. The load-bearing length is reduced to a minimum, giving the twin-tips exceptional pivot. The tip and tail of the skis are freed, so they pivot effortlessly in all types of snow. Flotation is easier, and even possible in switch. Ideal for powder skiing, especially in wooded terrain. Once back on the piste, the ski's natural camber and progressive rocker guarantee excellent All Mountain performance.
Flex
Spring Blade - Spring Blade is a machined Wood Core of varying thickness and the layering of the different fiber layers with different lengths offer extraordinary flex. This gives the ski awesome energy for jumping (pop effect) and great shock absorption when landing. This technology, when combined with specific sidecuts, offers riders the ideal mix for freestyle in both park & pipe and also in the backcountry.
Core
Wood Core
Laminates
Wood Fiber Core Construction - Traditional sandwich technology with a wood and fiberglass core gives the ski enormous fluidity and responsiveness. The absence of titanal sheets reduces weight significantly. The straight sidewalls ensure precise, effective transmission of the skier's movements.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Park & Pipe
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Park & Pipe
Park and pipe skis, often called freestyle skis, are for skiers who spend the majority of their time on jumps, rails, and jibs of all kinds. Traditionally park and pipe skis have narrower waists with full camber profiles, but this category is incorporating more rocker patterns and different shapes. You will almost always find these skis with twin tips as well as other park specific features like thicker, more durable edges, dense extruded bases, and butter zones.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Short
    Short
< 16 m radius is best for carving.
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Full Twin Tip
    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
