Dynastar Outland 72 Skis + NX 10 FL Bindings 2012

Dynastar Outland 72 Skis + NX 10 FL Bindings 2012: The new Dynastar Outland 72 Skis are the ultimate crossover skis for beginners and advancing skiers who want to progress faster on a variety of terrain. Dynastar's All-Mountain Rocker technology gives the ski a shortened running length for easy maneuverability in a variety of terrain and snow conditions. Traditional camber underfoot combined with moderate tip and tail rocker results in powerful full-length edge engagement when speeding down groomers and hardpack. This same moderate rocker profile gives the ski effortless float and tracking when moving into softer snow and ungroomed terrain. The Outland 80's 3D Wood Core construction employs a thicker profile at the edges for powerful grip and energy transmission while the milled center reduces weight and enhances control. This new all-mountain construction gives beginners and advancing skiers the crossover versatility to progress faster on all aspects of the mountain.
Shape
All Mountain Rocker provides immediate and easier floatation in all types of snow - a rocker that's very progressive in the tip, with limited length and height, and even lighter in the tail. The ski pivots more easily while still guaranteeing excellent grip and performance for carving. The rocker also improves tip flotation in the powder and on varied terrain, making it a decisive plus for all mountain riding.
Construction
Composite Core has Polyurethane injected in a mould with layers of Glass and Steel Fiber for good flex distribution, excellent performance at average speed, and good durability.
Autodrive Fluid two-part composite rail is more forgiving during the turn and minimizes energy accumulation. Rebound is softer.
Bindings
The Look NX 10 Fluid Bindings are for sport and leisure skiers looking for comfort, performance and simplicity. NXs are a benchmark in terms of reliability, safety and lightness.
DIN range: 3-10
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Core and Flex Pattern
The 3D Wood Core is hollowed out in the center where the stress is less intense and reinforced on the ski exterior, improving power transmission to the edges. The ski is therefore lighter, not only enhancing skiability but also improving performance and control.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Short
  • Core/Laminates: Composite
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
  • Warranty: 1 year skis, 5 years bindings
