Bought them new last year, did TONS of research on the right ski for me and was very excited to use them. They perform exceptionally, exactly as advertised, but after only 3 trips they began to split apart, badly. It's not from rocks, crossed tips or anything, just falling apart! I'm quite upset as I want to have these long term...

The Contact Cross Ti is a great carving ski for those who prefer a light precise touch as opposed to a bruising power carver like the Volkl Tigershark Power Switch series. It doesn't have the ultimate top end of the heavier carvers but its very much fun to ski at medium high speeds and on smooth hard pack. Not good in powder it will excell when its icy or if you prefer steep and medium groomers. Works best at medium high to lower speeds. Girlfriend says I ski better on them (probably because I am skiing slower so she can keep up and at those speeds she can still keep me in sight). Not the ultimate ripper but fun when skiing more modrately on smooth hardpack.

      Turns well, reactive, stiff but not too much.
      Small and large turns are a breeze, even on ice.
      Loves medium to high speed, very stable.

          I bought these as a second pair in my quiver for skiing the front side of the mountain. I also own a pair of Dynastar Legend 8000s and I absolutely love them. The Contact Cross Ti is more like the race skis that we all used to ski on years ago than all mountain skis. They skis excel when you want to make medium to high speed carving turns on groomed slopes or in icy conditions. They're also fun to ski in the bumps so long as you stay over the front of them. I have it on good authority that apart from graphics, the 2009-2010 Cross Ti is identical to the 2010-11 model.
