Product Info

Looking for a ski to stomp 40 foot airs while railing in mixed 50˚ terrain at super-G speeds? The Blizzard Bodacious Skis deliver like a New York City bike messenger on an I.V. drip of Red Bull. Not for the faint of heart, or tentative slipping around in tight spaces, this wide, stiff and burly plank wants to get up and charge pretty much all the time. Built with full Flipcore Sandwich Sidewall Construction and an Isocore Woodcore with Bamboo stringers, Blizzard adds two full sheets of Titanal for über-smooth stability at speed and one of the best-finished base structures in the business. Say it again, only faster: Boe-day-schuss.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Tip and tail rocker with a flat section underfoot lets you turn this ski with a bit less than Herculean effort at slower speeds

Core

Flipcore 3D TechnologyUnlike most other companies, who start with a cambered core and "bend" it in the mold to create a rockered ski, Blizzard starts with a rockered core and components in the first place - everything goes into the press in the same shape as it comes out. Sound like marketing BS? Sure, except for the fact the the Flipcore skis have received almost universal praise from experts in their short time on the market. Maybe Blizzard is onto something here . . .

Poplar-Bamboo-Paulownia-ISO-Woodcore

2 Layers of Titanal for vibration-free dampness at speed and on hard snow

Laminate reinforcement

Phenol sidewall

Comments about Blizzard Bodacious Skis 2013:

I use this amazing ski whenever it gets deeper than 6 inches. It smears, floats, pops, stomps and shreds. It eats vertical feet like the cookie monster. It absolutely devours pow, beat up pow and crud, and arcs back to the lift. Just freaking awesome!

Comments about Blizzard Bodacious Skis 2013:

OMG these ski's rip - I have never been on a pair of boards that accelerate quicker. Super G the groomers. Fabulous edge control & very stable on the ice (very surprising for a rockered ski). Don't worry if you need to put on the brakes - you can also dump speed very quickly.

I was a little concerned that I was sold a ski too short (186 / I'm 210 lbs & 6'-2") this was not the case. The shorter length makes these ski's more usable in the trees. As I've said there really isn't a speed limit - don't worry about that.

I have my bodacious' mounted with marker schizo's. If you don't have the luxury spending the extra coin for the schizo's I would not recommend mounting the bindings any further back than 1 cm - esp if you EVER find yourself at the top of a bump run. I would lean towards the boot center / factory recommend position. The rocker gives these ski's plenty of float in the POW.

It's hard to ski slow with these boards - they want to run. Typically I'm not a super fast skier but the Bodacious are so stable its hard not to rip it up!! -huge grin- oh yeah, they shred the POW like there's no tomorrow.

I would choose my Bodacious on a POW day or a groomer day – in between I'd go with my Volkl Mantra's (which are a great all mountain ski)
