Product Info

One of our best selling women's skis last year, the Blizzard Black Pearl Skis are back for 2016 with only topsheet changes. An all mountain design that doesn't back down from hard snow or speed, the Black Pearl is a ski that will appeal to a wide variety of women from progressing intermediates to groomer-oriented experts. Pull this one up from Davy Jones' Locker and use it above the waterline where it's designed to be enjoyed, lass.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Rocker Camber RockerSki profile with rocker at the tip and tail, camber in the middle. Reducing the pressure on the edge at the tip and tail makes the ski even easier to handle and increases flotation on powder snow. The camber guarantees great grip on packed snow.

Flex

Medium Flex

Shape

Tapered Tip & Tail

Core

FlipCore TechnologyWhile most ski companies start with a cambered core and bend it under heat and pressure in the mold to create rockered skis, Blizzard starts with a rockered, "flipped over" core that matches the ski's rocker profile in the first place. Make sense? It does to us.

Lite Core | Poplar-BambooSpecifically developed to meet the needs of modern Freeride, Touring, and Women All-Mountain skiers. This core provides a great strength to weight ratio thanks to Isocore and light wood or bamboo elements.

Laminates

Titanal Binding Interface

Sidewalls

Sandwich Compound SidewallAll Blizzard skis with the exception of some junior skis are built with ABS or Phenol sidewalls for superior performance (stability, power transmission, handling) and durability.

Base

Sintered Graphite Base

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Comments about Blizzard Black Pearl Skis - Women's 2016:

I tried these skis as a demo first and subsequently received them as a gift. These are fantastic skis that can handle anything. They're awesome on groomers, can handle ice well, you can turn easily since they're so light, and they can float in deep powder. They are super rigid so I did not enjoy them playing in the woods since they like to launch you when you hit some firm bumps. I was very impressed by how well they handled bowl skiing since they're not that wide.

Comments about Blizzard Black Pearl Skis - Women's 2016:

I used these for the first time last weekend. I am an intermediate/advanced skier. They handled really well on the freshly groomed runs of the morning as well as the mogully crud runs of the afternoon. Would highly recommend these skis.

Comments about Blizzard Black Pearl Skis - Women's 2016:

LOVE these skis! I'm an advanced skier in the Northeast and have used these in ice, crud, corduroy groomers, and powder, and the BP Is perfect in them all. It's a super stable ski that turns on a whim and really holds up on ice. Growing up skiing on crud, I'm not a huge fan of powder, but this ski really floats through it rather than getting bogged down and buried. I raced when I was younger but tore my ACL skiing a few years ago, which took a toll on my confidence. These skis have helped my confidence immensely, as I can be sure that they will hold up in any conditions. I've had a lot of fun skiing more aggressively on these. The only slight downside is that they scratch a bit easily, but this is purely a cosmetic issue so if that's the only con to a ski (especially in the northeast), you're in great shape. For what it's worth, I have seen tons of other BPs on the mountain at Stowe and talked to many other happy owners, and my husband has the men's version (the Brahma) and loves them (I also see these everywhere). Highly recommend!!

Comments about Blizzard Black Pearl Skis - Women's 2016:

I started skiing on Völkl PRL, then I demoed these (BPs) and the Völkl Kenja. I hated the Kenja, and fell in LOVE with this ski. It's the perfect ski to bring one from an intermediate to an advanced skiier. I live and primarily ski in Maine, and tested these out on a bunch of different types of snow. They did really well in whatever I threw at them...They kept an edge on ice, tore through crud, and stayed stable on the granular. They even floated me safely home over death cookies. They inspired a lot of confidence in me, and you can really get cruising on the groomers. I never felt unsteady on these, and they really made my season more fun. I paired them with mint green Marker Squire bindings (Squires were on the demo skis, so I wanted to stick with those), and got a lot of compliments on their beauty.

I have used the Black Pearls in all conditions during this year working on the slopes of Copper Mtn, CO. The Black Pearls are my dream for an all-mountain ski. VERY stable but lively. Carve beautifully as well as being capable of short quick turns. LOVE these skis. They are also good in powder to about 12-14."
