Product Info

Atomic Theory Skis 2013: Part of the new Vantage Series, the Atomic Theory Skis are equipped with All Mountain Rocker, Step Down Sidewall construction, and Carbon Backbone technology. Thanks to new Backbone technology with its special shape, wide all-mountain skis benefit from perfect flex and high torsional rigidity from ski tip to tail while weight is kept to a minimum. By integrating a Carbon Backbone into the core of the ski, Atomic’s new Vantage Series delivers exceptional running stability, tuned longitudinal and torsional flex patterns, incredible edge grip and integrated reinforcement for maximum performance.

Product Details

Shape

All Mountain Rocker: for all-mountain skiers seeking ultimate versatility, providing maximum support in soft snow on any terrain, convincing carving characteristics as well as stress-free drifting on-piste

Versatility with 20% tip rocker / 70% camber / 10% tail rocker

Twin Prog Sidecut: hook free stability at the top of the turn combined with exceptional edge hold and acceleration out of the turn

Construction

Wood core

Carbon Backbone: Additional pop for outstanding agility

The Backbone and wood core maximize the power flow and therefore improve edge grip. Vibrations in the Rocker area are effectively dampened by the Backbone. Carbon is synonymous with agility thanks to maximum energy.

Dimensions

18m @ 168cm 128/95/117, 19m @ 177cm 130/95/119, 20m @ 186cm 132/95/121

Additional Features

Step Down Sidewall: the extremely durable sidewall construction below the binding improves damping, shock absorption, and therefore edge grip. Half-cap construction at the tip and tail protects the ski from mechanical damage.

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width that is equal to the ski waist width and at most 15 mm wider.

Comments about Atomic Theory Skis 2013:

I have only skied this product twice since I have gotten them. First chance I got, I took a trip to Tahoe and skied all day. With the atomic theory, I felt I had full control at all times at all different types of speeds and terrain riding regular or switch. I gave this ski a 5 out of 5 overall because it allows me to go wherever I want to go from the groomed trails to the park and through powder on the tree runs. The only con I could find was that I often caught an edge when I wasn't paying attention. Great overall ski. I would recommend the atomic theory to anyone who likes skiing all over the mountain.

Comments about Atomic Theory Skis 2013:

I had a lot of fun on this ski- until it delaminated 2 months into skiing on them. Thankfully my shop took care of it and Atomic issued me a replacement pair. Things went well until the replacement pair started to delaminate as well. I currently have a return order set up and am waiting to see the outcome.
Also, if you're used to a stiff ski, these might not be for you. Good all around ski for New Hampshire. Bottom line? Save your receipt.

Comments about Atomic Theory Skis 2013:

I got this ski thinking I would use it for side country and the occational back country. Iv got Fritchi pros on them. I got the 168, I am 5'7'', 170lbs. I have only used them a handful of times since opening day. These skis rip. Granted the only thing they have seen is groomed and skiied off trails so fare. I am generally a more aggresive skiier. I put my waight in turns and enjoy the short radius turns. The Theory responded well to this. The rocker was great as well and it skis well switch. There is much more it has to expore this season and im stoked to see how it does in the side and back country and in the powder. So the down sides? Its a tad heavy, espeshally with the Fritchi pros on them. This is by no means an all out back counrty set up. I dont mind carrying around a little extra weight for the down hill preformance. The petex on the bottom is weird, there is the "tec" window on the bottom of the ski so you can see the woodcore and metal bits. I worry that this area might be prone to more wear and tare. Ill know more as the season goes on. But so fare, as a resort ski on the groomers and blasting through the crud at the end of the day, its a beast. Time to think snow.

Comments about Atomic Theory Skis 2013:

Price was really good and these things go bomb! they look really good too and I hit everything with them (not too much park, I leave that for kids) I took these to a bit of backcountry and they were perfect, good flotation in pow and they carve much better than I expected on the groomers. I have been skiing all my live with racing skis (20+ years) and I am enjoying the freeride and getting out of the trails everytime I can
