The Atomic Panic Skis are there for you when the snow drops out and the emergency light goes off in your head that things aren’t looking too good. The adaptive camber holds your versatility in check with quick and easy turn initiation with beastly performance on hard snow. You’re going to be just fine sparky.

Atomic Panic

About Me Intermediate

Pros

  • Good Carving Ability
  • Lightweight
  • Smooth Ride

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Downhill

Comments about Atomic Panic Skis 2011:

This was my first time on a rocker ski. I found the flapping of the long rise tip to be disconcerting, but this was only an issue when running straight and flat on groomed snow. Once you commit to a turn, it feels like the entire length of the ski hooks up to give you a nice, smooth turn. That could be the "Adaptive Camber" at work. Atomic got the flex of the tail just about perfect. There is enough pop coming out of short turns to keep things interesting, but it's not so stiff that you feel locked into the turn. The Panic is very easy to toss around. Compared to the Dynastar Sixth Sense Distorter, another twin-tip with an 87mm waist, I would say the Panic is more lively. Where the Distorter feels stable and sure-footed, the Panic is more active, almost eager. These skis are deceptively fast. I was getting air off things I normally just ski over. It normally takes me a few trips to the mountain to get to know a new set of skis, but not with the Panic. I did two runs to warm up, and then it was "pedal to the metal". These things really want to rip. The Atomic Panic is a nice all-round twin tip ski.

    Great ski, for the east

Comments about Atomic Panic Skis 2011:

This ski is great for conditions in the east. The few times that we get pow... they are terrible. But on the groomers they rip. I can beat all my friends and they do pretty well in the woods. They aren't very core shot resistant and i get all kinds of gouges. The great thing about these skis is you can go off-piste down to the park, shred in the park and then beat all your friends down the icy, less than perfect groomer.
