Atomic Blackeye Ti Skis + XTO 12 Bindings 2012

The Atomic Blackeye Ti Skis + XTO 12 Bindings feature a modest 82 mm waist width that combines smoothness on piste with sufficient float in soft snow. An Adaptive Rocker tip initiates turns with ease and provides exceptional maneuverability from edge to edge, while still maintaining total edge contact while on edge. The Adaptive Rocker also allows you to stay much more on top when working in the crud or powder. Make the Atomic Blackeye Ti Skis your new carving ski and you will find that more of the mountain is your playground than ever before.
Shape
Thanks to the Adaptive Rocker, the Atomic Blackeye Ti boasts easy and uncomplicated handling.
The Adaptive Rocker has catch-free edges when the skis are flat on the slope. At the same time it delivers the entire effective edge length when set on edge, providing optimum edge grip.
Construction
The Step Down Sidewall provides edge hold under foot with easy turn initiation and forgiveness in the tip and tail.
Bindings
The Atomic Blackeye Ti Skis are integrated with the XTO 12 Bindings to eliminate the “dead spot” created under foot. This allows for a more complete edge hold and smoother flow throughout the entire turn. The Atomic XTO 12 has a 4-12 DIN range and is ideal for the intermediate to advanced skier.
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Core and Flex Pattern
A combination of wood core and titanium ensure superb stability and unrivalled performance.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Short
  • Core/Laminates: Metal, Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.

Comments about Atomic Blackeye Ti Skis + XTO 12 Bindings 2012:

If they got rid of the twin tip turn up at the tail, this probably would be the best all mountain ski on the market. They could use a length of 185-187 with a radius of 16 and really excell.

If you can only have "One pair of high performance pair of skis with regular bindings to take to Chamonix steep culiors, Utah famous powder just of ski lifts and whistles off piste access without needing skins this is the best all mountain ski out there.
Aggressive, responsive, stable also great in powder.
For short walks purchase Lange AT boots and couple hundred meters approach Will be a breeze. Use use to race, did and still do many very hard ski descents and again if those are accessible from chair lift no question this is my ski I'm using. This is my second pair. There is almost no difference between 2013 & 2012 model and I can vouch for the 2012 model!!! Buy it you are going to love it.

Great pair of sticks. They are a little lighter than a typical all mountain ski which makes them easier to carve and float. Glad to see longer lengths coming back from manufacturers. This is a perfect all mountain ski; great for moguls, groomers, and pow-wow.
