Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2014:

This is the ski I use 90% of my ski days. Not because I'm always skiing deep powder but because it's that versatile. Sure it doesn't snow all the time but when mounted up with some Trackers I can avoid the crowds and find good snow on busy weekends. If I am skiing groomers with friends or family the Bent Chetler has short enough sidecut that they come around easily. I like that they have camber underfoot, it provides better edge grip and energy from turn to turn. The amount of rocker is perfect, I like that it features a low profile rocker design. It tends to skim the surface rather than create a plow and I really get the tips to dive. Once I started skiing this more I began to appreciate it's tapered tip and tail shape. I am really sold on having the widest point on the ski moved in closer to the center of the ski like this ski or the JJ, Opus or Pettitor or Hoji. You can vary your turn shape easily and quickly with them and not catch an edge in deep snow. When combined with the camber and sidecut they form a perfect balance and an overall great ski.

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2014:

What an awesome product! I'm 6'3, an advanced skier, and finally got to jump on a pair of Bent Chetler's in the size 192's. I love a "surfy" playful feel to a powder ski and the chetler's were just that and more. The ski had just the right flex in the powder but thanks to the little bit of camber underfoot I was able to enjoy the ski on the groomers as well. The ski is durable and light weight which made it fell extremely quick from edge to edge for a powder ski with very little chatter when on hard pack or groomers.

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2014:

I use the Bent Chetlers 90% of the time. I personally mount them at the team/ factory recommended mark, which is -2.5cm from center. Have a lot of friends that ski them at -3.5cm from center, 2 marks behind team, and love them. Mount according to style of skiing. More switch and playful go with team. More charging and deep pow go with option 2. Hope you dig them as much as I do. Happy shredding!

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2014:

These are the best fat twin tips on the planet. They just WORK! You can ski pretty much however you want; and they RIP! The addition of the "Sprocket Power Boosters" last year really made this ski sing; its stable yet still buttery and not overly stiff. The big advantage of the 'Chetler over the new Automatic is it skis switch just as well as it skis forward. It isn't THE lightest ski on the market, but it does not disappoint when it comes to weight.

As an added bonus, I feel like I can get these things on edge on the groomer getting back to the lift as if it were 105mm underfoot, not 123.

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2014:

This is a very versatile ski but really shines in powder. Super floaty and easy to turn. I thought I would have a more difficult time on hard and icy conditions because of the sheer mass of the ski, but exactly the opposite. I was able to set an edge and hold it even on a 50 degree icy slope I found by mistake,

I also predicted that these skis would be slow to initiate a turn, but even with the mass of these bad boys I had no issues.

Cons. I was breaking trail in the skin track b/c these skis made the widest track in my group

Summary. If you want a super fun playful ski that will out perform expectations , then pick up some Bent Chetlers.

Great for cutting through crud or floating on the big pow days. Not half bad getting through the groomers either.

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2014:

Used these skis for the most of the 2012/2013 season, deep days only.

They ROCK! Light, playful, tons of float, everything you may want from the pow ski ever. I've never felt that confident skiing out of bounds. Inbounds - in soft chop - they perform great as well preferring high speed and mid-to-long radius turns.

Talking about groomed terrain, well, you shouldn't expect powder ski to carve on hard-pack, cause it will never do, but on soft groomed surfaces like we have most of the year on the West Coast you will not suffer while getting to the lift, moreover with certain skill level you will be able to even enjoy it.

I am 6'2", 220 lbs. Used 192 cm skis, bindings were mounted 1 cm back from the "team line".
