Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2011: Chris Benchetler’s pro-model, the backcountry jib-friendly Atomic Bent Chetler features a traditional shape and a versatile mix of rocker and camber that slays hardpack and pow alike. The Pop Rocker, a blend of tip and tail rocker and camber underfoot providing killer float in deep snow, especially when you’re stomping switch power landings. Camber lets you carve into backcountry jumps and pop hard on take offs and increases hardpack performance at the resort. Atomic gave the Bent Chetler a three layer sidewall underfoot for durability and edge grip at ski center, and used Half Cap construction in the tip and tail to lower swing weight, stand up to ski-to-ski impacts, and resist chipping. The wild graphic can be summed up like this: ADD topsheet, LSD base.

  • Core and Flex Pattern:Tip-to-tail Wood core gives you a predictable flex all day long and for seasons to come.
  • Construction:Pop Rocker gives both the reverse-camber float and the hard-snow pop. Step Down Sidewall construction improves impact resistance with half-cap construction at the tip and tail to protect the ski from mechanical damage.
  • Shape:Rocker tip and tail for added float in the powder. Traditional camber underfoot for added edge hold on hardpack.
  • Binding Compatibility:Binding brakes should be at least as wide as the ski waist width, no more than 15mm wider.

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2011:

The 'Chetler's flex pattern is great for whatI'm looking for in a pow ski: soft in the tips and increasing stiffness in the tail (great for butters and stable landings). It's also lively for a big ski. Great tie dye bases!

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2011:

This ski really seemed to have no downsides. It seemed to be really responsive in all conditions and was super fun. This would be an awesome one ski quiver. It can rip everything from deep pow to groomers and keep you with a smile from ear to ear. Probably one of the most versatile and fun skis I have ever been on.

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2011:

Used in Mammoth on any day it snowed great for 2in to 2 ft of snow. Amazing pop and so much fun in really deep ski. Allows you to do everything you want to do in deep snow while making it easy. Sometimes too easy. Pivots really well in the trees. Soft enough to be fun but stiff enough to straight line open faces. Perfect flex

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2011:

The Bent Chetler is the perfect blend of all mountian versatility and a wide powder ski. They took a bit to get used to. I was not a fan of the early taper at frist but when I had my first deep powder I was certain I loved these skis. The taper makes the ski so surfy and fun. I like the weight too. Combine it with the camber under foot and it makes the ski pop off features. I am glad I am on these skis.

          Killer Pow Jib Ski

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2011:

For 2011 BentChetler is the same ski that I was drooling over all season at EVO with an updated graphic. After 1 run on this ski I knew why it was sold out in January. Its construction and design is very similar to the Armada JP vs. Julien but with a wider platform throughout. It rips groomers and felt solid in the crud we found at the end of the day. My only gripe with this ski is that it seemed to be deflected by some of the bigger snow chunks but this is probably because its such a poppy ski. Like many of the other pow skis on the market it could easily be a one ski quiver.

Pow slashes like Freddy Kruger on Friday the 13th. You'll leave the mountain feeling your wrath after you've slayed Old Man Winters deep offerings. Chris Benchetler has one of the best skis on the market for pow days and variable crud crushing. Amazingly stable for how lightweight the ski is.

Comments about Atomic Bent Chetler Skis 2011:

I thought the Blog was a great one-quiver ski, and the Benny is just that but wider and more playful. It killed it in chopped up, mixed powder and still layed out nice turns on the hard pack. This ski is quick and nimble for its size. I could see myself skiing almost every day on it and having a blast.

I like how poppy this ski was. It was also much quicker edge to edge than I expected. And very stable as well.
