Product Info

The Armada TST Skis will get you through whatever the mountain has to offer. An innovative front rocker gets you on top of the powder but doesn't severely compromise your effective edge length, so you can sock it to the mountain when carving the groomers. The TST is the definitive all mountain ski and will have you beamin’ no matter what the conditions are. A portion of the proceeds of each ski sold are donated to Travis Steeger's Memorial Fund.

Product Details

Rocker Type

EST All Mountain RockerTip rocker with positive camber under foot and no tail rocker. Promotes flotation in the soft snow while giving the ski great drive and edge hold on the hard pack.

Flex

Flex PatternTip: 6, Waist: 7, Tail: 6.5 (1=soft; 10=stiff)

Shape

Tapered TipTip width is narrower than width at contact point

Dimensions (tip/contact point/waist/tail)117/130/100/121 mm (165), 118/131/101/122 mm (174), 119/132/102/123 mm (183), 120/133/103/124 mm (192)

Core

Hybrid Ultralight CoreUltralight core using select wood stringers that have unusually high strength-to-weight ratios, UltraLight cores allow our widest skis to maintain a light-yet-stable feel.

Laminates

Laminate MatrixDeliberate directional layering of fiberglass dictates flex pattern and torsional rigidity and allows each ski's flex to be precisely tuned. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex; Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski; Tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski.

CK StringerCarbon Kevlar combo stringers lie on top of the laminate matrix along the tail to brace the ski. This increases the landing platform, especially when weight is distributed farther back in the ski than intended. It also gives the ski more pop and extends ski life.

Sidewalls

AR50 Sidewall ConstructionABS sidewall meets cap construction – the best of both worlds. This engineering method combines the lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot, resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.

Base

50/50 BaseA blend of speed and durability, this base is faster than Armada’s S7 base but more rugged than the Comp series.

Edges

1.7 Impact EdgeThe edge height and width is deliberately smaller and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness to increase durability and decrease weight.

Binding Compatibility

Bindings not included

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Comments about Armada TST Skis 2013:

Super fun all mountain ski. Holds edge very well on groomers and stays stable at high speeds, It's rockered tip and stiffer tail keeps it confident in hard, tracked up snow. I'd like it to be a bot wider for pow days but for most days with no new snow they were awesome.

I demoed these skis up at Whistler last week, and absolutely loved them! I hiked up the glacier and they floated great in the powder (the big shovel rocker up front was awesome). I spent the rest of the day skiing 20,000+ vertical on groomers, and the large camber underneath was great. Even in the ice, they held their grip. I also like how there's no tail rocker so you can still rely on the stiff backs

      TST Versatile

Comments about Armada TST Skis 2013:

Good, on/off piste. Gets a little loose at speed, better off piste. Wide tip made hard pack moguls a struggle, just not quick enough. Basically good for anything but not the best at any one thing.

Comments about Armada TST Skis 2013:

I had fun on these skis. They turned well (fast) and felt very different what I'm used to because of the long rockered tip and flat tail. I found that having the asymmetrical rocker to the ski like this was a weird feeling to me that I never quite got comfortable with. Probably not the ski for me but would maybe recommend it for someone else.

Comments about Armada TST Skis 2013:

This ski was excellent in soft snow conditions and spring conditions, very playful and snappy without being too soft. I did not try it on firm hard conditions but it was a ton of funin the warm slushy snow when I demo'ed it.

Comments about Armada TST Skis 2013:

Armada put together a ski for Travis Steeger that would be tough enough to handle the deep powder settings of BC but still be capable to rip hard lines without sacrifice. In such, they produced the TST in honor of the late Steeger. Armadas setup can take you to new heights and big mountain terrain with great piece of mind. Secure in and out of turns with amazing control. Firm and responsive underfoot but a float in the tip that will make you feel like you're water skiing. Highly recommended for the big time skier, don't waste your time in the resort with these powder slayers.

Comments about Armada TST Skis 2013:

One of the best all mountain skis I've been on in a while, this ski can do it all! Ski the steeps and deep in the morning and then shred the groomers and ice at night. The EST all mountain rocker has a progressive tip rocker but no tail rocker allowing the ski to turn like a GS ski on the groomers. Even on the ice this ski held its edge like a charm. What sold me on this ski was how well it handled the chunder. This ski had no problem grabbing an edge on super bad heavy wet snow. A portion of the proceeds of this ski are donated to Travis Steeger's Memorial Fund and which provides free avalanche skills training courses for youth. So do some good and buy this ski!!!

Mounted them up with 7TM power tour binding and these things rock. Really rail on the groomers and even at speed, minimal chatter from tips which are heavily rockered. The stiffer tail gives it pop on the turns. The tips help you float over choppy snow and crud.

Comments about Armada TST Skis 2013:

I have the 2012 model of this ski Other than the graphics, I doubt if it's changed, as it's a great ski to begin with. The shovel and rocker design reminds me of the "ZAG" skis that came out in early 2000, but just wider. They turn quickly and effortlessly, and will stand on the rail on groomers without washing out.
This is a very fun ski for a alpine or telemark skier. I'm hoping to get a few more years out of these. Need to get some fat skins for them ($$$) for a backcountry review.....

Wow super stoked on this one. Came out last year but it was always taken when I wanted to try it... And for good reason. For having so much rocker and taper in the tip this skis extremely well on hardpack and then shines in the variable and deep snow. I was surprised how stiff the tail felt. It give the skier a sense of confidence that other skis don't have probably due to the fact that it has traditional camber. I really liked this one.

Likes to turn. Super to move with a tail you can rely on. Would reccomend mounting a hair back from "factory" if you are not used to a shape like this, not much though. Lots of fun on the steeps.
