Armada JP vs. Julien Skis - JP’s creative energy and Julien’s superior technical understanding coupled with their experience and ability come together in the JP vs. Julien Signature Model Skis. Take off switch with more confidence behind a tail 10 mm higher than the tip. Armada’s full-wood Ultra Light Core, heat treated 1.7 Edge wrapped around a 103 mm waist, makes this one of the most universal backcountry skis out there. The great wide open isn’t just about hitting booters though, it’s about skiing extremely variable conditions anywhere on the mountain. JP and Julien designed this ski with a soft flex profile and very little camber and sidecut to get more out of the reduced with and extra width in powder. According to JP, if he could take only one ski with him on any trip this would be it.

Ultra Light Core- This core is made up of very hard to find light weight high density wood species. The wood laminate construction provides Armada with a very stable light weight core construction. This is the back-bone of Armada’s widest backcountry skis enabling them to maneuver effortlessly through deep powder conditions while providing a smooth ride.
50/50 Base- A blend of two base materials that creates better speed for Armada’s wider skis.
1.7 Edge- These edges are heat treated to Armada’s custom specifications to minimize edge breakage and maximize durability. The 1.7 edges offer weight savings.
ABS Construction- Armada’s strongest and most performance based type of construction. This type of construction is more material and labor intensive than cap construction.
Sandwich Fiberglass- The perfect blend of Uni & Bi directional composite fiberglass mixed with carbon fiber stringers creates a union that provides positive edge control and precisely the right amount of torsion and pop.
