Armada ARV Skis 2012: Traditional camber and laminate sidewall construction make the Armada ARV Skis a reliable all-mountain ski. Its mid-fat platform and Double Zone core produce the even balance desired between lively edge to edge snap, and the stability needed for long arc’d turns.
Positive Camber engages the tip and tail of the ski, enhancing ease of entry and exit into and out of a turn, while maintaining solid edge hold.
Two strips of ABS material lie directly alongside the core and over the ski’s edges; providing solid edge hold, core protection, and stability.
The ARV has a 2.5 edge, an oversized height and width and the steel heat-treated to a proprietary hardness which helps resist breaking and tearing out from rails, ledges, and other abuse.
A 50/50 base is faster than Armada’s S7 base but more rugged than the Comp series.
The Laminate Matrix consists of three kinds of fiberglass laminates used in combination to deliver the exact amount of flex and torsional rigidity needed in the appropriate places.
A blend of Carbon/Kevlar stringers run along the tail of the ski to stabilize it, creating a better landing platform, increased snap and added pop to ollies.
The Double Zone core is made up of two high density wood stringers that sit along ultralight wood creating a light core with pop and solid edge hold, while keeping swing and overall weight down.
Flex Pattern: tip - 5, waist - 7, tail - 6 (out of 10)
We recommend a brake that is equal to the waist width and at most 20mm wider. (brake width = ski width + 20mm)
