Product Info

Maybe Wu Tang isn't for the children, but we tend to agree with Edollo on this one. Just like a plate of spaghetti from Little Italy, the Armada Al Dente Skis have been cooked to perfection and have the street cred to back it up. Henrik Harlaut wanted a ski stable enough to stomp landings but soft enough to butter. Combining the best of those worlds, the Al Dente features AR Nose Rocker and a softer tip so you can dial in a butter cork 7 without catching the tips. Durability is a no-brainer; Armada s AR50 construction and 2.7 edges are bombproof. No matter what you do, remember what Edollo says: "Wu Tang is for the Children!"

Comments about Armada Al Dente Skis 2015:

I love these skis. Love them. My kids, they're alright. But I love these skis. I got them because I wanted to foray into freestyle, but I find that I can comfortably tear down a mountain. I love going fast, but I (obviously) need to be 100% certain I'm in control. I've found that some powder skis don't hold an edge as well. I've yet to find that they're holding me back on speed. Moguls, I feel like I've re-fallen in love with moguls. They are much lighter (especially considering they are plenty wide). I took them down every kind of terrain at the mountain I go to (Copper Mountain in Colorado) and they felt like a million bucks. The couple of double diamonds I went down were like that steep mogul (the moguls don't really form) and I felt like could just rip down them.

BUT they were designed for freestyle skiing, which I'm still fairly new at, so my ignorant opinion ain't worth much. My hesitancy in getting them was that I wanted to be able to go all over the mountain and not have to bring two pairs of skis. I'll put it this way, we're going to Taos in a few weeks and I'm only bringing these skis (and doubt I'll do any freestyle).

One con, I'm being serious here, they don't snow plow very well. When I'm going through trees (on established paths, on powder it probably wouldn't be an issue), call it bad habit of whatever, but now and then I use a snow plow if it's too narrow. I'm not proud of it. When I came home my wife asked what I thought of them and I said all of the aforementioned and then laughed and said they were a little weak on snow plowing. She just laughed at me (and we haven't had sex since). Anyway, I'm just saying that if you can't parallel ski yet, these aren't your skis.

Oh yea, and powder. On the day I took them up for the first time in snowed 12 inches. They're like water skiing. You can obviously get a fatter pow ski, but personally I hate super fat skis. To me, these are heaven.
