Some would say this ski is made for backcountry touring, and you would be wise to listen to them. Whether you get up the hill under your own power or not, Eric Hjorleifson's second pro model ski (yes, he is good enough to have two) is built with many of the same features as the Renegade, but geared for greater versatility in a variety of conditions. The flex has been stiffened from that of the original 2013 HOJI for added stability and performance at speed. The awesome sailing ship art is by Hoji himself and may just be cool enough to inspire some 40 foot drops without hesitation.
Reverse Camber A full radius along the length of the ski gives the ski maximum float and nimble turning.
Reflect Tech Reflect Technology was dreamed up Eric Hjorleifson as a way to make rocker and side-cut work together. In the past, full rocker profiles had a negative impact on the ability of the ski to edge consistently, causing the tips to hook and the tails to wash out while the ski was on edge. With Reflect Tech, the Rocker radius and the side-cut radius are matched, to allow the ski to edge smoothly, and create predictable carving in all conditions. It virtually eliminates tip hook, as the ski will engage smoothly along its whole length, and still gives you the float and pivotablility of a fully rockered ski.
Asymmetrical A directional shape that gives the ski a more consistent feel
Big Mountain Shape These skis will get you down the steepest, tightest and most exposed lines out there.
Tip / Tail Taper The widest dimension of both tip and tail is moved toward the center of the ski
Hi-Lite Core A blend of poplar and beech makes Hi-Lite Cores snappy and lightweight with enough substance to drive wider skis in soft snow.
Semi-Cap Semi-cap partially wraps the topsheet around the sidewall for additional durability.
Purl Wax Purl Wax is based out of Colorado and is made from renewable and natural sources. 4FRNT chooses to wax their bases with Purl Ice-9 wax because it is 100% biodegradable, petroleum free, and keeps nasty PFCs out of human bodies and watersheds.

Snow Sports Recycling Program This program collects old ski gear such as skis, boots, poles and various other equipment and grinds up the material for re-purposing. The White Room contributes all of its fiberglass and wood scrap from cutting the skis out once they come off the press.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Comments about 4FRNT HOJI Skis 2014:
This is a very diverse ski. I picked up the Hoji for am upcoming trip to Japan, and just to have a great powder ski in the quiver. Living in New England I needed to test out the ski on the "ice coast". It performed very well on hard pack, and overcame the crud with ease. I was a little skeptical to order a ski with reverese camber, but all skepticism is gone. The pre-cut skins are a nice accessory as well for the ability for some AT. Have Fritchi Vipex tech bindings mounted on them creating a very light setup. I am 170lbs and 5'11" and ride the 179, which makes for a nice nimble ride!!
Comments about 4FRNT HOJI Skis 2014:
Perfect backcountry set up or for powder/variable snow inbounds. Size and weight are great for hiking, not too heavy, but plenty of float in powder. Very stable, very smooth even in choppy snow. The full reverse camber and tapered tip allows quick turning and slashing, while still being able to striaghtline at speed. Awsome flat tail with rubber edge for hooking skins onto also.
Even holds an edge well when you get to the groomers, smooth and predictable, never hooky.
I'm using it anytime there's any kind of soft snow around, it's so much fun!
