4FRNT EHP Skis 2012: With 18 revisions in its 5 years on the market, the 4FRNT EHP Skis have been the 4FRNT staple as a big mountain and powder ski as well as a bestseller from year to year. Eric Hjorleifson ultimately tried to find the perfect blend between traditional and new reverse camber/sidecut designs to create versatility in his EHP skis - a result that has yielded a ski that delivers amazing float and speed in soft snow, but is agile around the resort. An all around denser core allows for a stable platform in every type of snow, allowing for all mountain dominance.
Shape
A Rocker design with zero camber underfoot, the gradual tip to tail shape of the 4FRNT EHP Skis provides maximum responsiveness from groomed runs to deep snow. Set back early contact points at the tip and tail allow the ski to rise up in deep and snow and have less drag.
Construction
Deflect ABS Sidewalls consist of a stiff and supportive blend of materials to maximize edge grip. A tri-bevel finish further sustains performance and defends topsheet chipping.
Q 45 Weave tri-layered fiberglass creates longitudinal and torsional stiffness throughout, allowing prompt response in a variety of snow conditions, high speeds and hard riding.
Glosstop Topsheet, specific to 4FRNT, offers a crystal clear glossy finish to maintain the graphic’s brand new appearance, while also minimizing chipping and preventing scratches.
ISO-SPORT 2000 sintered base allows for exceptional performance and speed
Flex
Megablock core made up of Ash and Beech wood is 4FRNT’s most damp and dense composition allowing for all mountain dominance.
X4 Dampening System is a full perimeter layer of elastometric rubber foil that is laminated between the metal edge, fiberglass, and wood core, creating stability and a smooth, high speed ride.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake that is equal to the waist width and at most 20mm wider. (brake width = ski width + 20mm)

Comments about 4FRNT EHP Skis 2012:

I only took one run on these. It included medium sized hard bumps, cut up off piste and a soft groomer. The EHP was simply confidence inspiring. Sure footed and easy to ski. Me : I am 210 pounds, enthusiastic but middle of the road skier. I skied the 186.

EHPs

Comments about 4FRNT EHP Skis 2012:

EHPs are a more all around version of the Renegade. They handle almost everything well and are more stable feeling at speed on harder surfaces. There is almost no loss to the Renegade in soft snow though I found the EHP harder to ski through the trees. The EHP would make a great ski for touring.

Comments about 4FRNT EHP Skis 2012:

This ski is amazing just like my favorite skier Hoji. With zero camber, gradual tip rocker and a flat tail, this ski floats beautifully yet allows for a very aggressive forward stance. With how stiff the ski is though is what I love. This allows the ski to feel extremely stable at high speeds (I found no speed limit) and handle not so fresh powder (crud) with ease. Also, the versatility was amazing. For opening day at Nakiska with icy groomers, they felt like carving skis with almost no chatter. The only thing I do point out is that these are very aggressive skis, if you aren't an advanced skier that is on the throttle most of the time, these skis will own you. Other than that, thanks Hoji for an amazing ski.

    4Frnt EHP 2012

Comments about 4FRNT EHP Skis 2012:

These skis are a powerful ski made for skiers who like to charge hard and ski fast. I was lucky enough to take these skis out on a deep powder day and was blown away with their performance. I almost had to change my name to Cliff Hucksable after skiing on them. They were awesome laying huge pow turns and stomping deep landings. Even cruising groomers back to the lift, they held an edge well and I always felt in control, unlike other fat rockered out skis that ride like a truck on hardpack. If I had to call out a shortcoming, it is that these are not a finesse ski. Tight trees are not it's forte, but that's like sending Scott Stevens in to score a finesse goal. Just like Stevens, these are your big powerful ski that got your back when things get deep. So, if you are looking for your big mountain charger, look no further than the EHP. It's got everything you need to send it big.

Comments about 4FRNT EHP Skis 2012:

Since owning these I have been simply amazed, i have not skied anything that handles all the conditions so well. Through the powder you can charge with heaps of confidence and keep a good, aggressive forward stance.

I bought these primarily for the powder days and bought a separate setup for touring but since trying various different skis for touring, I can't help but think my best option would be to fit the touring bindings to these, or get another pair specifically, they're that good!
