4FRNT CRJ Skis 2012: The 4FRNT CRJ Skis were designed by late, great skiing legend CR Johnson to fit his playground image of the mountain. Whether you’re floating down the mountain on a big storm day or racing your buddies through varying terrain, the CRJ will take you all over with rockered tips and tails that have just the right amount of early taper and with camber and traditional side-cut underfoot. The 4FRNT CRJ Skis are an extremely agile and versatile ski that will revolutionize the way a ski will perform for you as it did for CR. R.I.P. buddy.
Shape
Rockered and tapered tips and tails allow the 4FRNT CRJ Skis to float in deep snow. Camber underfoot and traditional side-cut allow you to carve through firmer snow.
Construction
Deflect ABS Sidewalls consist of a premium blend of stiff, supportive materials that maximize edge grip. A tri-bevel finish further sustains performance and defends against topsheet chipping.
Q 45 Weave tri-layered fiberglass creates stiffness throughout, allowing prompt response in a variety of snow conditions, high speeds and hard riding.
Glosstop Topsheet, specific to 4FRNT, offers a crystal clear glossy finish to maintain the graphic’s brand new appearance, while also minimizing chipping and preventing scratches.
360 Full Wrap edges for perimeter support in daily use
ISO-SPORT 2000 sintered base
Flex
Hi-Lite core of Poplar and Beech wood is snappy but light enough to support wider skis in soft snow.
X4 Dampening System is a full perimeter layer of elastometric rubber foil that is laminated between the metal edge, fiberglass, and wood core, creating stability and a smooth, high speed ride.
Binding Compatibility
We recommend a brake that is equal to the waist width and at most 20mm wider. (brake width = ski width + 20mm)

Fun in the powder

Comments about 4FRNT CRJ Skis 2012:

I picked up these skies to replace my last year's Moment Bibby Pros. The CRJs are very fun on a powder day- but once it gets heavy these can be a bit unresponsive. The flex is very useful when it comes to stomping big airs. I like the ski, but I prefer Moment's Bibby Pros that I skied last year. These skis would be perfect with a touch more rocker and slightly fatter tips. I mounted them with Dukes and take them into the backcountry as well. A little heavy for a bc setup but still functions.

Challenging

Comments about 4FRNT CRJ Skis 2012:

I found the CRJ a bit of a challenge. It smears and slides well. It'll carve. But Managing the transitions was a challenge. The tips tend to deflect in cut up snow. th emore I used it the more comfortable it was but finding that sweet spot was a challenge. Me: I'm 210 pounds, enthusiastic but a middle of the road skier and I skied it in a 188.

Lovin' the deep stuff

Comments about 4FRNT CRJ Skis 2012:

These Skis are definitely at home in the powder and deeper snow. They surf around real smooth and with a lot of movement but you are totally in control. The tips have no problem staying on top in the direction you choose and the slightly tapered tail lets you really slash without washing out. However, they don't match their powder abilities and sheer fun level on anything packed down or harder crud. They get a bit snakey on firm crud or heavy, hard stuff, and they do make a bit of noise at speed on groomers. The tips can get a little jumpy and try to get away from you but once you get used to that and figure out how to maneuver them you're fine. Overall a great ski but definitely at home in the steep and deep.

Thanks to CR for a great ski

Comments about 4FRNT CRJ Skis 2012:

A very fun and lively ski that makes the whole mountain a playground. The way the ski is shaped make it very easy to get through tight spots but still held on the groomers very well. An all day ski for all day snow.

CRJs

Comments about 4FRNT CRJ Skis 2012:

The CRJs feel light and poppy. Short turns are snappy and easy to start while longer turns are possible but not as stable feeling as the EHP or Rengade. the skis feel like they can spin easily and are fun to slide and smear in soft snow. They are best skied from the center.

The mountian is your playground

By Aaron

from Stevens Pass

Comments about 4FRNT CRJ Skis 2012:

The mountain is your playground when skiing on these skis, There isn't a single thing they can't do. Powder, groomers, trees, slush, you name it and it can be done. They float through it all even air nicely for jumps. They took a run or two to get used to but after that I had no problems. I had no trouble skiing the 180s when I normally ski 170s because I am 6'0" and only 140lbs. I highly recommend these to anyone who wants an experience of pure fun and joy while on the mountain. I was smiling the entire time whiel skiing on them. Without a doubt the CRJs are the best ski I have ever skied.

Review for CRJ

Comments about 4FRNT CRJ Skis 2012:

I am 5'9" , 145lbs. I skied it in the 180 length probably would want the 188 for big turn stability. Soft snow friendly and handles the groomed well for how much taper it has. Really playful in in the soft snow. Could take some runs on the groomers to get used to the shape.
