Rossignol PMC Ski Poles 2012: Aluminum Alloy 5086 is commonly used in the construction of ship hulls due to stress corrosion cracking resistance. Rossi took that material and made some strong poles out of it with the Rossignol PMC Ski Poles. They don’t look too shabby either, which is definitely a bonus.
Shaft
5086 Aluminum alloy shaft is lightweight and strong
Grip
Contoured Polyurethane grip ensures a secure, comfortable hold
Strap
Nylon strap with adjustable buckles keeps poles around your wrist
Basket
70mm disk baskets

I am an expert skier and purchased these poles because I am now a "groomer" and "fair weather" skier, due to two severe spine injuries sustained while skiing. I wanted something lightweight, yet durable. Rossignol is second-to-none when it comes to using durable materials, while still making a cheap product. I have been using these poles for weeks now and I enjoy the flex, yet stiffness they provide on groomers, while remaining super light weight for small jumps and boxes in the park. I feel like they aren't even in my hands. The only con I have is that the grips are a little too large for my hands. But hey, you can't make grips to fit everyone! Nice job Rossi.

I bought these poles along with my new skis. I chose these because they were the absolute cheapest (and after all, poles are poles).

Second day skiing, one of the poles bends (I don't even remember hitting it or anything). The great guys at EVO customer service send me an additional set of poles - so at that point I had 3 proper poles. ~20 ski days later all 3 of those poles are bent in some way or another. One isn't that bad and the other I managed to straighten up by hitting against a tree for a while. So those are the ones I still use. The other two are bent beyond repair.

Soon (probably for next season) I will just fork over more money but get something that doesn't bend so easily.

Comments about Rossignol PMC Ski Poles 2012:

I break / loose poles all the time, so cheap lightweight(ish) ones like this are perfect for me. Let's face it, they are just basically a pair of sticks at the end of the day - no need to get too technical...

Comments about Rossignol PMC Ski Poles 2012:

Really, there's not much to say about poles.. These seem fine to me, although they are NOT as sexy as the ones which got stolen (sob).... those were slimmer and a little lighter and probably tougher too. But these poles do the job just fine too. There isn't much "performance" in a pole except putting it down in the snow and making a turn.

Comments about Rossignol PMC Ski Poles 2012:

These are beautiful poles and I used them every day, but I have small hands - a ladies size small glove fits me perfectly. The design of the handle (the grip is fatter in the middle than on the top or bottom) on these poles prevents me from wrapping my fingers around it for a good grip. At the end of a long ski day, the heel of my hand is always a bit sore from this "ridge." Simplicity would have been a better design here.

Comments about Rossignol PMC Ski Poles 2012:

What can I say? It's a pretty basic ski pole. Nothing flashy or fancy about the pole, but it gets the job done just fine. I bought these primarily because they were super affordable. I have been pretty unlucky with ski poles in the past, averaging one broken pair per season. For that reason, I am simply not willing to spend the money for a fancy, expensive pair. If you're looking for a simple ski pole that will carry out all of the basic functions of a ski pole with aplomb, then look no further.

Basket is smallish for deep powder, maybe.. but we dont get much of that in the East anyway.

These were great poles! I used them over a three day period on some pretty rough terrain and rolled with them once, but they didn't bend or break a bit.

Great value. I purchased these with a 20% off coupon and recieved free shipping. They were at my house the next day. Couldn't believe it. I bent one of the poles during a pretty bad wipeout but was able to just bend it back when I got home. Still working great.

Poles were light and tough. Fell on one and bent it pretty good, but was able to bend it back by applying stove top heat and pressure. Basket is a tad small for deeper snow, but not detrimental.

very lightweight poles. used them for 4 days so far. a slight bend in one of them, probably because i smashed it into a tree. evidently a lightweight durable pole that doesn't look too bad either. note that the white color shown in the picture is not white, but actually more grey.

The way the straps sit they lay flat against eachother making it difficult to put glove through. I end up wearing the straps all day rather than removing for the lift

These poles are super light and very comfortable. The ergonomic design is very comfortable and fits well in the hands. The back part absorbs shock nicely and the pole is a good stiffness. No complaints about these poles - they were a nice upgrade from what I had.

The poles are not heavy and are cheap. They are by no means exceptional poles but they are a good value.
