I bought these poles to replace some old Kerma poles I had for 15 years. So far they work well, are lightweight and also happen to match the color scheme of my Rossignol Phantom SC80 skis. I also like the break-away wrist straps, as they worked well recently in Montana when I took a nasty fall on a double-black diamond. I may have fractured my wrist if the straps didn't breakaway! I also like the fact that they come with 2 different baskets, for hardpack or powder, and they are easy to swap out. The only complaint I have is that the black paint chips very easily and after using the poles for 5 days of skiing, they look rather beat up.

Consider myself an advanced skier. Bought these as they looked to be a good deal because they were on sale but it was a mistake. After skiing with these on probably 12 occasions, I had my first real fall with them while going down a mogul field and landed on my side between two moguls and the pole completely snapped in half. After that, my ski day was over and that set of poles were over.Very cheap and disappointing product

Comments about Rossignol Phantom 7000 Ski Poles 2009:

This may be one of the best purchases I have ever made. The polls are comfortable, work perfectly and are extremely durable!

The only downfall is they are on the heavy side however, they are still very easily gotten used to.

Great product. Lightweight but still has the necessary stiffness. And the best part was the great deal from Evogear. Poles are not the most important part of a skiing experience, but if you can get great poles at a great price, why wouldn't you?
