Comments about Life Link Teton Backcountry Adjustable Ski Poles 2011:

I bought a demo set of these poles two years ago from [@] in Leadville, used them extensively skiing and backpacking for two summers and two winters. This past Summer the devices that tighten the pole segments gave out because I use my gear every day, ski/snowboard hiking on rocks and dirt all year it's impossible to keep everything clean and they were caked with mud often. When I bought these poles they were really cheap ([$]) and at first they seemed to be light and maybe not very durable, so I thought till I climbed a few high thirteeners during June and these poles could take my entire weight when I slipped, saw the bottom six inches of the right pole bend, happened really fast and there were no cracks or dents in the pole. After hundreds of climbs and descents with these poles, knowing what I've put them through, I'd recommend to anyone who tours and likes adjustability and function along with durability that other more expensive models don't offer. The basket system is nice too, threading holds them in place tight while they are easy to remove and pack. The demo graphics were different, the structure is the same. Good equipment is the best, Life Link's proven that year after year.
