I haven't had a chance to use these poles yet, but they seem like they will work just fine. They are light, stiff, adjustable enough, etc. My only criticism would be the baskets. They come with large powder baskets that are kind of flimsy and have a proprietary threading / locking system. I feel pretty confident that I won't lose a basket with this system, but I also feel like if I ever wanted to swap baskets, such as for smaller "groomer" baskets, I'd be hard-pressed to find any that would work with these poles. Why put anything other than powder baskets on collapsible touring / BC poles? Well, obviously I love powder, but I bought these collapsible poles more for the travel aspect (minimize chance of bent poles while in my airplane ski bag) than I did for BC use. It would be nice to have a set of smaller baskets for every day resort skiing. Trivial, I know, but EVO is a good enough company that they just might read this and start including a spare set of smaller baskets for future versions of this pole.

I'm not particularly rough with poles. I moved over to carbon, adjustable poles several years ago and have gone through numerous pairs mainly due to losing them in powder and carelessness (theft).

I had some trouble stepping into my binding the other day, and tapped the my boot with one of these poles. I didn't strike it too hard, but I heard a "snap" and upon closer inspection, saw the entire lower portion had splintered.

I had this pair just around a month, and I'm already having to replace them. I'd suggest buying another brand.

This is my first adjustable ski pole and I really like it. Shortens to fit safely in my ski bag. Basket great size for deep powder. Light weight yet strong. The power lock is secure. The only reason I dont give it a five star is because I haven't tried all the other brands.

So far so good! I picked these up for around $40, so for a pole with carbon lowers and made by Komperdell, you really cannot go wrong. Would I ski inbounds with these? Maybe. If I was planning on a big day in soft snow, yeah, but not if I were planning on skiing moguls or jumping off things. I just cannot imagine them surviving being crashed on too harshly.

Took one sideways summersault in about a foot of powder, popped up for my next turn, and about 1/3 of my pole was missing. Don't recall even putting that much weight on it. Good thing these are telescoping poles. Easy to use the telescope and just pull out more pole when they snap on you. However, you will need a replacement powder basket, hahaha.

These poles perform very well. The flick lock design is functional with Mittens on. With a lot of pressure pushing off from cornice's and even XC skiing, these don't slip. Construction is very good as well. And the price is unbeatable!

Great set of standard poles which provide everything I am after. I do look at other poles from more well known makes such as black diamond with envy, but when trying to find negatives in the Evo poles I am at a loss. Not the flashes gear on the mountain but it gets the job done and they have not let me down yet.

First pair only lasted three outings before i shattered a lower section. Was simply skining on a sidehill section and a small slip put the ski edge in contact w/ my pole and adios. Lower section could really benefit from some sort of protective sheath. Being a standup shop, EVO hooked me up w/ a new pair but 1st outing w/ those and one of the baskets fell off skinning up to to top of Alpy on well consolidated spring snow.

These are great poles specially if you buy them online. Being able to expand makes it a lot easier to buy over the internet since you dont have to worry about the length. They are very durable and light weight.
