Volkl Gotama Skis + Tyrolia SP 100 Demo Bindings - Used 2012

Wide but not too wide, powerful but not too much to turn in tight spaces, the Völkl Gotama Skis + Tyrolia SP 100 Demo Bindings may be the perfect setup for the soft snow oriented skier looking for a quiver-of-one. Völkl's unique Extended Low Profile (ELP) rocker gives you all the edge you can use when you lay the ski over, but super maneuverability on softer surfaces. Get 'em now and see what all the hype is about.
Rocker Type
Extended Low Profile (ELP) Full Rocker gives the skier all the benefits of added maneuverability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain. By matching the flex and sidecut with the full rocker (long, gradual bend from tip to tail) profile, the skier gains full, uninterrupted edge contact. The more you put the ski on edge, the more effective the edge becomes. The resulting smoothness and predictability is truly uncanny.
Core
Sensorwood Core - Precision CNC-milled using vertically laminated poplar and beech wood
Laminates
Tough Box Construction Powered by Carbon - Tough Box construction features a multi-layer wood core wrapped in a Composite/Fiberglass sheath to create the ultimate in resilience and snap for freeskiing models. Surrounding the core in the mid-body of the ski, it adds power, strength and binding screw retention.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Big Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Big Mountain
Big mountain skis are designed for charging big lines with high speeds and big airs. These skis varry in width from wide, powder-oriented skis for skiing Alaska spines to narrower, mixed condition skis for ripping the beat up headwall at your local mountain. Skis in this category tend to be on the stiffer side, often with more rocker in the tip and less in the tail.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker
    Rocker
Rocker (also called reverse-camber) is just as it sounds – camber turned upside down. Rocker skis have a side profile with a smooth downward curvature and a contact point at the middle of the ski. Rocker skis excel in deep powder. This profile provides the skis with less tip and tail hang up to prevent from catching edges and allows the skis to initiate turns extremely quickly. This profile doesn’t perform as well in icy conditions or on harder snow but if you spend lots of time in deep, untracked snow and like a more playful ski, Rocker is a great choice.
  • Turning Radius: Long
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
