Volkl Allura Skis + iPT eMotion 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2013

Volkl Allura Skis + iPT eMotion 11.0 TC Bindings - Women's 2013: The all new Volkl Allura Skis with iPT eMotion 11.0 TC Bindings make the frontside of the mountain the ultimate carving playground. A Bio-Logic shape combined with tip rocker, this could be the most playful women’s carving ski on the market. Light, lively yet easy on the knees, the Allura will impress any skier who wants to own the corduroy.
Shape
Tip Rocker features an early-rise tip design and a classic camber profile in the rest of the ski provides easy, smooth turn entry regardless of conditions. In softer snow the ski is incredibly forgiving, floats better, and requires less energy to ride.
Bio-Logic Sidecut shapes are wider in the tip, and narrower in the tail than unisex skis, featuring a specific, progressive design that has a tighter radius in the front of the ski and a longer radius toward the tail. The narrower tail allows the skier to finish the turn with less effort, reducing the load on the knees.
Construction
Extended Wood Core Xtra Light is used in XTD Progressive constructions to be more forgiving with a solid central section that extends toward the tip and tail.
Dual XTD Transmission Powered by Steel is forgiving and soft in feel. It delivers the necessary power for an exciting ride that is accessible to more than just expert skiers.
Bio-Logic Flex works in synergy with the new stance and geometry. Stiffer in the front of the ski for quick turn initiation, and softer in the tail for easy turn exit, the Bio-Logic flex enhances flex distribution and gives the skier the ultimate in comfort and control.
Bindings
The Marker iPT eMotion 11.0 TC Bindings feature the Triple Pivot Comfort Lady Toe and TwinCam Heel.
DIN Range 3.0-11.0.
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Additional Features
Bio-Logic models with rocker now utilize the profile of the ski to create the more level stance. This allows the stance to be adjusted without adding the weight of an extra spacer in the binding. Bio- Logic Stance affords less overloading of the quad muscles, which undergo most of the strain in the turn. More balanced muscle action between the quads and hamstrings means better performance, less fatigue, and protection for the knee joint.
Included Bindings
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Short
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
