Comments about Rossignol Scimitar Jr Skis + Xelium Jr 70 Bindings - Youth - Boy's 2013:

Only thing I don't like about this is that both the skis don't lay flat when both of them are back to back. Other than that, great skis for people who don't go skiing every weekededn. Great cheap, sturdy skis. Great purchase. Would defiantly recomend.

    Average mass-produced kid's ski

    About Me Expert

Comments about Rossignol Scimitar Jr Skis + Xelium Jr 70 Bindings - Youth - Boy's 2013:

Another review mentioned "thick" and something about being hard to turn in slush. I disagree. These are thin, flexible, cap-constructed kid's skis. They are very narrow, and they WOULD turn on a dime if many kids were actually capable of putting the ski on edge. Most aren't when it comes to the target market segment of these skis (newer skiers whose newer-to-skiing parents see these on mega sale at EVO or REI halfway through the season).

All this having been said, they've worked very well for my 9-yr old on GROOMERS. They suck in pow, which is to be expected, given the narrow waist and epic camber. Seriously, these are more toward the "race ski" end of the spectrum when it comes to camber and running surface. That actually works out OK in this case, because they're so soft. (FYI to other reviewer, the skis won't lay flat against each other because of the camber. It's a normal for this style of ski. The brakes don't lock the skis together at all. Invest the $6 in a Black Diamond or Voile ski strap and strap it right across the boot area).

They look and feel mass-produced and cheaply made, but we've seen no ill effects from that. As my son becomes a better skier, his next pair will be one of the more full-fledged kids' skis, but I think for the first few years for most skiers, these will totally get the job done if you stay out of deep powder.

Comments about Rossignol Scimitar Jr Skis + Xelium Jr 70 Bindings - Youth - Boy's 2013:

I bought these skis for my 13-year-old. He's a great skier, but he is 5' 3" and 90 lbs., so I wanted a light, softer ski that was lively and stable enough to take some speed. A lot to ask for, but these skis are perfect. This was our family's first experience with integrated bindings and they were a snap to set up. The price was great and we couldn't be happier. Thanks for another winner, evo.

Evo's website is really helpful and exciting to buy from! The skis looked as they were online, however a bit thick on the ability to cut and turn in icy/slush conditions.
