Rossignol Experience 74 Skis + Xelium 100 Bindings 2014

The Rossignol Experience 74 Skis + Xelium 100 Bindings are incredibly versatile all-mountain skis for progressing intermediate to novice skiers. With the heart of a high-performance carver and a freeride touch and feel, this one-ski-quiver delivers enhanced performance for easier progression in all snow conditions. Auto Turn Rocker, Extended Sidecut and Cascade Tip combine for easy maneuverability, playfulness and effortless speed control. Traditional camber underfoot delivers powerful edge grip and confident stability. Experience more whether cruising through chop, weaving through trees or carving on hardpack on this revolutionary new breed of high-performance all-mountain skis.
Rocker Type
Auto Turn Rocker - A profile with 70% standard camber in the center of the ski and 30% rocker at the tip and tail. The high underfoot camber delivers secure grip for on-piste performance. The slight tip and tail rocker gives a power-assisted steering effect with effortless control, as well as excellent versatility in powder and on the piste. Multi-snow - Versatility - Control - Maneuverability - Multi-performance.
Sidecut
Extended Sidecut - Rossignol developed the longer sidecut to improve high-speed grip while simultaneously improving low-speed handling. Extending the sidecut far into the tip means that the ski can be in contact with the snow along its full length when the skier is angulated and at high speeds. At lower speeds, rotation becomes easier.
Core
Wood core
Sidewalls
Cap - Skis of this construction are easy to ski, with a fluid ride and excellent durability. Skis are stronger with ROSSITOP. Maneuverability, Comfort, Ease.
Additional Features
Xelium - The new XELIUM system is 700 g lighter than a conventional binding, allowing skiers of both sexes to progress in complete safety with a high performance system, without being penalized by the weight of bindings. The XELIUM system won the Eco Responsibility Award at ISPO 2012: Its environmental footprint is greatly reduced (35% lower) compared with the life cycle impact of a traditional binding.
Included Bindings
Bindings Do Not Come Mounted to Skis - Always have a certified binding technician mount and adjust your bindings.
Xelium 100 L - The Xelium 100 is an ultra-lightweight, integrated binding with a 2.5-10 DIN range.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate
    Beginner-Intermediate
Someone who is new to the sport or working on linking smoother turns falls into this ability level. Typical beginner ski/snowboard qualities include: softer materials, narrower widths, and capped constructions. The idea is to create a ride that is easy to turn and very forgiving in case you become off balance or fall in the back seat. The addition of rocker in the tip and tail gives a catch-free feeling and shorter contact length when the ski/snowboard is flat on the snow, making it easier to turn.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Short
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
