K2 A.M.P. Photon Skis + Z12 Demo Bindings - Used 2012

The K2 A.M.P. Photon Skis carry a powerful force of energy with the forgiveness and control of All-Terrain Rocker™, combined with new Glass Web and M3 binding system. The Photon has the power to take recreational skiers to every corner of the resort, continuously expanding your comfort zone with its stability and forgiveness. The K2 A.M.P. Photon Skis will bring out capabilities you never knew you had.
Rocker Type
All-Terrain Rocker™ - Featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance with camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions, this rocker profile increases versatility and ease of turn initiation in all snow conditions.

Core
Fir and Aspen Core - These solid and dense woods are known for their inherent strength, durability and responsive feel.

Mod Technology - Mod Technology is a high-performance suspension system that absorbs vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge hold, power, and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, leaving the overall ski flex unaffected.

Mod Monic - Mod Monic is a focused mass-dampener made of a solid zinc mass that focuses mass dampening at a targeted location on the Mod structure.
Laminates
Glass Web - A weave of glass that envelopes the Mod structure for additional torsional rigidity that is more forgiving and versatile than carbon.

Triaxial Braiding - By braiding fiberglass around the wood core in three directions, this construction technique provides torsional rigidity for added control, making the ski incredibly energetic and responsive.

Sidewalls
Cap Construction - Cap Construction is durable, lightweight, and softer, built by a sophisticated molding process that envelopes the core and internal materials with the top layer of the ski.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Short
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
  • DIN: Release Value Low: 4
  • DIN / Release Value High: 12
