K2 A.M.P. Charger Skis + Marker MX 12.0 Bindings 2013

If charging down the mountain while making short to medium sized turns is your cup of tea, than you need skis designed to do just that. The K2 A.M.P. Charger Skis with Marker MX 12.0 Bindings is a setup designed to bomb hills while dodging the innocent, for people who like a variety of speeds, including fast! The K2 A.M.P. Charger Skis are equipped with ROX technology, which gives you added torsion and a sharper sidecut, making them versatile and nimble hard snowcarving tools.
Rocker Type
Speed Rocker™ - Designed for high performance precision and agility on firm snow, the slightly elevated tip and increased tip length provides effortless initiation and flawless transitions, while the camber along the rest of the running surface delivers precision, power, and edge hold.

Core
Aspen and Paulownia Core - Aspen is solid and dense; Paulownia is an eco-friendly, fast-growing renewable wood that is incredibly strong and very lightweight.
Sidewalls
Hybritech Sidewalls - This unique blend of sidewall and cap construction combines the accuracy, power and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Additional Features
Mod Technology - This is a high-performance suspension system that absorbs vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge hold, power, and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, leaving the overall ski flex unaffected.

Mod Monic - A focused mass-dampener made of a solid zinc mass that focuses mass dampening at a targeted location on the Mod structure

Carbon Web - A raised X-Shaped carbon support is laid on top of the MOD furthest from the core to increase torsional rigidity for greater edge hold and grip.

Included Bindings
The K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis come with the Marker MX 12.0 Bindings for an advanced skier. Working in conjunction with the integrated titanal hubs, the Marker K2/MX system provides unmatched precision and control. The system uses Marker’s Inter-Pivot Heel technology and lightweight Triple-Pivot Comfort MX Toe. This toe comes with a cross-mounted spring, stainless steel AFD, and backward release function.
Bindings Do Not Come Mounted to Skis - Always have a certified binding technician mount and adjust your bindings.

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Carving
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
    Intermediate-Advanced
The majority of skiers/snowboarders fall into this level, whether you like to carve on groomers or venture into the powder. These skis/snowboards may be somewhat wider than beginner-intermediate skis, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Depending on the type of ski, intermediate-advanced level skis may have full camber, rocker, or some combination of the two.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Medium
  • Core/Laminates: Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
    Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
