Dynastar Outland 87 Skis + PX 12 Fluid Bindings 2014

Handcrafted for those skiers who desire serious on-piste carving performance but who also love to venture out into the soft snow when things get fluffy, the Dynastar Outland 87 Skis + PX 12 Fluid Bindings are versatile, all-mountain chargers that will not disappoint. Whether carving on hardpack, busting through crud, or ripping through untracked tree lines, the All-Mountain Rocker technology and Super Fiber laminates will keep the Outland 87s incredibly stable and responsive for an incredible day on the mountain.
Rocker Type
All-Mountain Rocker Technology - "Crossover" on-trail performance and effortless off-trail maneuverability are brought to you via moderate tip and tail rocker with traditional camber underfoot. This tried and true design provides full-length sidecut engagement for powerful and confident edge grip, easy turn initiation and effortless soft snow performance.
3D Wood Core Construction - A thicker core profile at the edges provides powerful grip and energy transmission, while a milled center reduces weight for improved versatility and control.
Super Fiber - Basalt and Aramid fibers are woven into fiberglass for increased strength, rebound, and vibration dampening. What does this mean? Excellent stability and ski-snow contact for a smoother, faster ride - without the additional weight of metal laminates.
Autodrive - Vertical sidewalls are used underfoot to provide increased power and edge grip, while Cap construction toward the tip and tail allows simple, less aggressive turn entry and exit.
Additional Features
Autodrive Fluid X Plate - A precisely engineered binding mounting platform, the Autodrive Fluid X Plate is a metal platform that works to increase leverage and torsional stiffness for increased power and precision in turns. Rubber boosters beneath the plate store energy for consistent edge grip and rebound. This system also allows for tool-free binding adjustment.
Included Bindings
Look PX 12 Fluid Bindings - This 3.5 - 12 DIN binding provides high performance for the most demanding and versatile skiers.
Bindings Do Not Come Mounted to Skis - Always have a certified binding technician mount and adjust your bindings.

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Carving
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
For those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as will as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
  • Turning Radius: Medium
  • Core/Laminates: Aramid (Kevlar®), Basalt, Wood
  • Tail Type: Flat
This is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
  • DIN: Release Value Low: 3.5
  • DIN / Release Value High: 12
  • Warranty: 1 Year
