Dynastar Legend 105 Skis + NX 12 Demo Bindings - Used 2012

Dynastar's Legend series skis have been a dominant presence in competitive big mountain skiing for close to a decade. The new Dynastar Legend Pro Rider 105 Skis + NX 12 Demo Bindings are stout and versatile athlete developed skis with 3D Wood Core construction, two layers of titanal and full-length vertical sidewalls to provide a beefy, bombproof feel that performs in the most demanding conditions. The slow-rise Freeride Rockered forebody lends float, maneuverability and forgiveness when charging deep or variable snow conditions. Combined with a 105 mm waist and stiff, slightly turned-up tail it's an ample landing pad that stomps mandatory airs and powers out of big turns. The new Pro Rider 105 is a fall-line seeking missile with aggressive versatility that makes it the go-to choice of the hardest charging pros, patrollers and local heroes.
Rocker Type
All Snow Rocker - All Snow Rocker has a fairly long rocker, progressive only in the tip, for improved terrain absorption and impeccable flotation in powder. Ski pivoting is facilitated, making forward/rearward balance easier and reducing muscular fatigue when off-piste. The flat tail enables skiers to maintain the heel power crucial for high-speed freeriding and off-piste jump landings.
Core
3D Wood Core Construction - A thicker core profile at the edges provides powerful grip and energy transmission. A milled center reduces weight, improving versatility and control.
Laminates
Sandwich Laminate Construction - Wood cores with titanal and/or high tech laminates provide the best feel, balance, power and stability.
Sidewalls
Dual-Density Vertical Sidewalls - Deliver the ultimate edge grip, power and balance
The power is provided by two layers of fiberglass whose basic weight (thickness) can vary depending on the model and the desired skiability. The double Melamine/Phenol sidewalls ensure flexibility and power according to the skier's needs in the different phases of the turn

Specs

  • Terrain: All-Mountain, Big Mountain
    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.
    Big Mountain
Big mountain skis are designed for charging big lines with high speeds and big airs. These skis varry in width from wide, powder-oriented skis for skiing Alaska spines to narrower, mixed condition skis for ripping the beat up headwall at your local mountain. Skis in this category tend to be on the stiffer side, often with more rocker in the tip and less in the tail.
  • Ability Level: Advanced-Expert
    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, carve with race-like precision, hit the biggest jumps or halfpipes; advanced to expert level skis/snowboards are for the more aggressive rider. You will often find the addition of layers of metal, carbon, bamboo, or other stringers in these. These features work to make a stiffer ski/snowboard with more power and rebound.
  • Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber
    Rocker/Camber
Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
  • Turning Radius: Long
  • Core/Laminates: Metal, Wood
  • Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip
    Partial Twin Tip
Partial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
