Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Paclite Waterproof Jacket: Mountain Hardwear’s plan with the Mountain Hardwear Typhoon PacliteJacket was to start with GORE-TEX® PACLITE® and add details from there. Not a bad plan at all considering GORE-TEX® is extremely waterproof, winterproof and breathable and totally rocks the outerwear fabric market with the technicality. As for the details, the Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Paclite Jacket keeps it simple and keeps it smart with a beefed up rollaway hood, Micro-Chamois™ lined chin guard and adjustable Velcro® cuffs for quick easy adjustments.
Material
The Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Paclite Jacket is made of GORE-TEX® PACLITE® Mini-Ripstop (100% Nylon). This fabric is highly waterproof, windproof and breathable. The GORE-TEX® membrane blocks wind and water, but allows your body moisture to escape, so you can stay dry inside and out. The Mini-ripstop has a high filament count and a GORE-TEX® PACLITE® laminate with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish for superior durability and protection from the elements.

Athletic fit, with room for a slim layer underneath.

      I wanted a waterproof shell for both city and trail, and this black MH Typhoon fits the bill perfectly. I've had it for 2 months, no water gets in, sweat is wicked reasonably, and it's strong enough to resist ripping from a metal wire that I snagged while walking the other day. I'm 6'5 195lbs with long arms, short sleeves are generally a problem, but the Typhoon in XL fits great.

      This jacket is super waterproof. Sometimes it feels like this jacket is just too much for a little rain. The adjustable hood works great but it's a little awkward trying to adjust it because its right at the back of your head and it just hangs out of the hood. I'm 5'5 and pretty athletic and I got a small. There's enough room to wear a hoodie under it for me. It's not warm by it self because it has no insulation but i bought that know it.
