This is a great Gore-Tex jacket that is well made from a tough material and weights less than most raingear. The upper pocket is positioned so it is usable while wearing a backpack. The jacket has a loose enough fit to accommodate insulation layers underneath. The hood has the proper adjustments to keep your head dry in rough weather and the jacket has the ever popular and oh so helpful pit zips. I recommend this jacket for the type of person looking for more serious, long-lasting, raingear.

Bought it in Singapore and used it in NZ while hiking Tongariro Alpine Crossing. I like the fact that it is very lightweigt comparing to many other products, I can conveniently pack it into my daypack.
However, those pockets seem not suitable to be used in rain. During the hike, there was mild rain for about 2 hours. I had a map, gloves, and iPhone in those three pockets, and they all turned out wet (and my phone is gone, costly lesson!). My shirt was well kept dry though.

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

I really love this jacket. I got it in XL orange for my tall and large frame and it fits very well and looks great. I used the NF sizing guidelines to select the size.

I purchased it mainly because I am currently on crutches from a sports injury. I live in the DC area where summers can be hot, humid, with lots of thunderstorms. Crutches and umbrellas don't mix very well and that was my main purpose in buying it. It's very lightweight, like you are wearing nothing. You don't need to be on crutches to love this jacket. It's a great product. As a shell it will be great year-round.

do not trust north face sizing chart

    By

    from salem ohio

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

I ordered a medium per north face size chart. I am 5ft 11in 180lb. the sleeves were 2in short and I could not zip it up. I reordered a x-large and was charged $7.00 shipping. I could still use 1 size larger but I do not want to pay another $7.00 return shipping and drive 23 miles to a fed ex location. I will keep this jacket and just make sure I do not wear a sweatshirt underneath.

    Soft and comfortable

    By

    from Midwest

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

Great soft non-crinkly material. Great closures. Main zipper initially stiff and tends to snag on inside flap. I believe it will loosen with use. A small fits me (6'1" 170, 31 waist and typically 40 coat) snugly but with enough room to add a layer.

    Finally!

    By

    from Baltimore, MD

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

I have been looking for a lightweight, fully breathable rain jacket, and this is it. The summers in the mid-Atlantic are incredibly humid and most rain jackets make you feel as if you are in a sauna. This rain jacket allows most of that steam to dissipate. The fit is very nice (I used their fit guide to decide the size) and it sheds water like a duck. It also has underarm vents that you can unzip to vent even more heat (just remember to keep them zipped during heavy rain or it will let in the water). The hood is adjustable, so you can keep your head dry with or without a hat. All in all, this is a very nice rain jacket and reasonably priced. I will be buying more North Face clothing products.

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

Love the coat, but the material does feel a bit "sweaty" on the inside when it gets saturated during a down-pour. This may just be a property of the Gore-Tex membrane that makes it so breathable, but it is not something I had experienced on my heavier Gore-Tex snowboarding jacket.

My husband has this jacket and loves it! Our son is a sherif deputy and is out in the elements a lot. His previous the north face rain jacket was of lesser quality, but he wore it for years and loved it. We will be giving him the drizzle jacket for Christmas and know it will keep him dry forever! Thank you.

        from Elk Grove, Ca

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

The grey Dryzzle gore-tex jacket I recently purchased from North Face performed admirably on a wet rainy night in Albuquerque. I was with a friend at a football game and the entire time the jacket keep me dry and the wind out. I wore the jacket as the last layer along with a hat and the hood. Since the jacket is so light and easy to carry it makes it easy to bring along to any outdoor event when the weather is threatening and cold. I do believe that once you try it you will like it.

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

My previous The North Face rain jacket that I bought 10 years ago was of much better quality than the same product they're offering today. Since the seams started leaking on my old rain jacket, The North Face offered a new rain jacket of my choice at half price. I chose the Dryzzle jacket, but am disappointed by it's poor quality. For example: The North Face cheapened down the design so much that they didn't even bother to including something that allows me to hang my coat. Now I have to wrap the thin Goretex fabric around a hook if I'd like to hang my coat, and that's where this coat will be damaged soon, and starts leaking!

I have had this jacket for 5 years now. it is a major part of my wardrobe most of the year. i use it as a light rain coat, and combined with my liner it makes an awesome winter coat. I have worn it though hurricanes, torados, and blizzaerds. I even ride my motorclyle in the winter with it. My zipper has broke now and im sending it in for warranty repair. I may just buy another color to have as a spare. I miss it SOO much and I coudnt imagine not having it after being spoiled all these years!

I just took this jacket to Europe, and glad I did. It is lightweight, packable, and waterproof. I used it as a lightweight windbreaker and rain shell. It's not meant to keep you warm in cold weather, so I combined it with a Thermoball which worked great. In fact, the two together got toasty in 40 degrees with rain. That said, great shell. I would use this for travel, hiking, camping, general outdoors. You could try it with cycling or running as well. I have a swimmers build. I bought the XL and if fit my shoulders just fine. there was extra room around the waist, but that is normal for my frame. Great jacket.

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

I upgraded to this Dryzzle from the Resolve. While the Resolve is a great jacket in its own right, I feel that the Dryzzle is two steps up. One, it doesn't have the mesh inner lining, especially in the pockets, so everything feels smoother and more "together" when you're wearing it over a mid-layer. Second, the adjustable Velcro cuffs are a godsend. I never like elastic cuffs because I hate having the sleeve bunch up at the wrists when the weather's not cold enough that I need everything to be blocked out. And lastly, the Dryzzle is just one thin membrane so it's really lightweight and compact, but still offers stellar protection from the elements. The only concern I would have is durability as the material is pretty thin, but I haven't had an issue with it so far just wearing it around town doing everyday activities.

Well worth the extra cost over the Resolve, in my opinion!

                Sweet Jacket

                By

                from Louisville, KY

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

Love this lightweight, Gore-Tex rain jacket. Maybe I should have sprung for the Mountain Light because it has the zip-ins, but whatever, that's why I have a good winter jacket.

My beefs, though few and far between:
the jacket isn't the athletic fit which makes it oddly baggy.
The pit zips don't zip for me if I'm wear the jacket!
There's no inner loop to hang the jacket from. Not a big deal, just seems weird.

I purchased this jacket as a Christmas present for someone who wanted a light weight rain jacket. It definitely keeps them dry. So far they have no complaints!

Comments about The North Face Dryzzle Jacket:

I have the black version of this jacket and I feel very confident I will not get wet whenever it rains. Granted, I'm not an extreme hiker, but knowing I'll be dry is worth the peace of mind. I'm slim (5'7", 135 lb), and bought an S. I find the jacket fits quite large overall and the sleeves are long. My 5'9 friend fits the jacket perfectly. Too bad there is no XS. The upside of the large fit is that you can wear insulation underneath.

I like the shell material of the Dryzzle as it's not too loud or plasticky which makes it pleasant to the touch.

Some cons are that the Velcro at the cuffs are very narrow and fiddly. Also, there is no fabric on the collar area which makes the jacket feel cool.
