        I have used these pants to go snowshoeing in (and soon to go snowboarding/skiing). The gaters keep the snow out out my boots, and I stay dry and warm for hours. The waist has a tightening/loosening elastic belt built in to adjust for size. I bought the xs based on my height (5'2", 115 lbs) and the length is perfect, the waist is snug, but not constricting. I actually prefer the waist being snug, because I don't feel like they are slipping. They are very comfortable overall.

          These pants are sick! They are extremely comfortable and will keep you dry all day. I live in North Carolina and we tend to have a lot of wet snow and slush, but even after a full day of boarding in these pants, no snow or water seeped through. These pants are a little more on the baggy side, but that's nice because there is PLENTY of room for base layers. These pants have lots of pockets in convenient places as well. I would definitely purchase another pair of these Burton Cadence pants!
