Fischer Ranger 108 Ti Skis 2016

We realize you're probably tired of lines like "Chuck Norris skis this ski" but we can't resist this time. Walker would have no choice but to rock the Fischer Ranger 108 Ti Skis, and he'd crush on it, too. At 108 mm this is the perfect quiver-of-one width for soft snow lovers - it gives you plenty of float in medium density snow, but it's not so wide as to make quick direction changes a chore. The Ranger 108 Ti is a new breed of freeride ski that feels smooth and confident at speed but is way lighter than what you're probably used to. Fischer achieves the weight savings using a specially milled core and super thin carbon tip, but leaves a Titanal shell in place where it counts along the topsheet of the ski. Predictable and nimble, the Ranger 108 Ti also skis well on groomed snow and will make a great quiver-of-one ski for adventurous skiers who take their pleasure outside of the backcountry gates when they can.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Freeski RockerTip and tail rocker with reduced camber for smooth performance and ease of turning.

Shape

Tapered Tip and Tail

AeroshapeThe topsheet of the ski forms a broad sphere, leaving the ski thickness normal in the center but radically reduced at the edges in the tip and tail. This shape not only reduces mass, but increases torsional strength and leaves a streamlined side profile in soft snow.

Core

Beech and Poplar Woodcore

Air Tec Ti Wood CoreFischer brings their patented Nordic technology to alpine skis in this elaborate, offset milling structure which reduces core weight by 25% without affecting flex or torsion.

Laminates

Titanal ShellA curved shell of Titanal metal wraps the top surface of the milled Air Tech Ti core.

Carbon NoseVisually striking use of lightweight carbon laminate in the nose of the ski allows the ski tip to be extremely thin and lowers vibrating mass at speed.

Sidewalls

Sandwich Sidewall ConstructionWood core combined with ABS sidewalls in a classic Sandwich Construction for balanced flex and perfect rebound.

Base

Sintered Graphite Base

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Marker Griffon Ski Bindings 2016

The Marker Griffon Ski Bindings are our top selling performance binding year after year. The reasons are obvious - excellent energy transmission, light weight compared to other bindings in its class, and solid durability have made the Griffon a fan favorite that finds its way onto more freeride skis than any other 12 to 14 DIN clamp. Marker's gliding AFD (anti-friction device) ensures consistent release with all types of ISO 5355 alpine soles and is less dependent on cleanliness or condition than stationary AFD's. The Inter Pivot Heel is time tested and offers excellent vertical elasticity as well as reliable release when you really need it. Step into the Griffon this season and find your own sweet spot.

Toe Piece

AFD Gliding PlateAll Marker bindings (except the Jester Pro) are equipped with a moveable AFD (Anti Friction Device), allowing a precise release unhindered by dirt, snow, and ice buildup. The type of AFT is matched to the skier type, ensuring perfect functionality from racing to junior and even alpine touring.

Triple Pivot Elite Toe PieceWith a horizontally oriented spring, it provides the highest energy absorption to reduce the risk of early release. The secure purchase on the boot lug optimizes power transmission and allows for durable, high energy use. The performance to weight ratio of the Triple Pivot toe is truly unmatched in the industry.

Heel Piece

Inter Pivot HeelThis industry-leading construction delivers superior holding power for all types of freeskiing. Its design focuses power in the direction of the boot sole, increasing elasticity. The overall design creates optimum power transmission.
