Aaron Rathy has been a constant force in wakeboarding since he burst on the scene, and every year his style evolves. Keeping up with this evolution has been an issue for Byerly from the beginning, but three seasons in, Scott "Butch" Bouchard designed the AR-1 to be the perfect ride for Aaron. The culmination of all that hard work and testing, the AR-1's shape is responsive, fast, poppy but also extremely durable thanks to the all new Cross Link construction, which fuses the top and bottom laminates through the core. This new construction method allows for a thinner board, maximizing spin, while there has been no loss of strength. The AR-1 features Byerly's first continuous rocker allowing maximum speed into the wake without losing any pop, while still allowing for a very responsive feel.
Continuous Rocker – This continuous rocker is one smooth, fluid, curved shape designed to carry great speed into the wake with minimal drag while providing a predictable pop off the wake to shoot you further out into the flats. Once out there, the continuous rocker is perfect for carving.
Thin tip/tail thickness
Subtle Center Landing Feature
Reinforced, elevated footbed area
Layered Glass – Unlike traditional woven glass that will separate over time, layered glass provides plenty of durability, which insures that your deck will have the same pop off the double up year after year.
Glass Rope Sidewall – A custom makeup of 3 different fibers of glass woven together, inlayed in the sidewall and fused with the top and bottom laminates to create maximum strength and durability
Cross-Link Fiberglass I-Beam Construction – The culmination of years of testing and design, this innovative construction method utilizes the strength provided by linking the top and bottom laminates through woven fiberglass stringers. These stringers are then threaded through reliefs in the core, allowing them to make contact with both the top and base fiberglass laminates. When the board is laid up, the resin fuses with the laminates to form a single fiberglass structure.
Biolite 3 Core – Biolite 3 foam is the lightest and most durable foam formula to date, which is wrapped in layered glass. This traditional material provides a core that is strong enough for the best athletes, but is also perfect for a first time rider.
