4FRNT Hoji Skis 2015

For that perfect middle ground between big mountain effectiveness and uphill aptitude, look no further than the 4FRNT Hoji Skis. The full rocker shape not only excels in fresh snow, it also allows for a more fluid, trail breaking stride on the way up. Tried and true Reflect Tech allows smooth, predictable carving across a variety of conditions, and when combined with the Big Mountain Shape designed by Hoji, gives you the stability and confidence for high speed airs and chute exits.

Product Details

Rocker Type

Reverse CamberA full radius along the length of the ski gives the ski maximum float and nimble turning.

Sidecut

Reflect TechReflect Technology was dreamed up by Eric Hjorleifson as a way to make rocker and sidecut work together. In the past, full rocker profiles had a negative impact on the ability of the ski to edge consistently, causing the tips to hook and the tails to wash out while the ski was on edge. With Reflect Tech, the Rocker radius and the sidecut radius are matched, to allow the ski to edge smoothly, and create predictable carving in all conditions. It virtually eliminates tip hook, as the ski will engage smoothly along its whole length, and still gives you the float and pivotablility of a fully rockered ski.

Shape

AsymmetricalA directional shape that gives the ski a more consistent feel.

Big Mountain ShapeThese skis will get you down the steepest, tightest and most exposed lines out there.

Tip / Tail TaperThe neutral sidecut length at the tip and tails' widest dimension.

Core

Hi-Lite CoreA blend of poplar and beech makes Hi-Lite Cores snappy and lightweight with enough substance to drive wider skis in soft snow.

Sidewalls

Semi-Cap ConstructionSemi-cap partially wraps the topsheet around the sidewall for additional durability.

G3 ION Alpine Touring Bindings 2015

The G3 ION Alpine Touring Bindings are beautifully engineered and realized tech bindings that put G3 firmly at the forefront of the tech revolution. With the ION, G3 has moved away from the ONYX model and now features default "open" toe wings as well as a rotating heel. A number of features set the ION apart from the competition, including a ski pole accessible clearance channel to remove snow and ice from under the toe wings, retracting step in guides in the toepiece, ski brakes that will stay deployed after switching into tour mode if you like, and spring-loaded fore-aft heel movement to accommodate ski flex. To top it off, the ION easily wins the tech binding "Most Attractive" contest with its polished Titanium and Orange color scheme. If you're looking for a tech touring binding with the convenience and versatility you've missed in the past, the G3 ION is your binding.

Product Details

Toe

Industry-leading Jaw RetentionStronger springs in the ION toe jaw mechanism allow the binding to be skied aggressively in the unlocked mode.

Wide Freeride MountA wider, 40 mm footprint in the toe unit screws is 30% wider than the traditional pattern, for better leverage with wide skis.

Snow Clearing ChannelA space under the toe wings is large enough to fit a ski pole tip in, forcing snow and ice out - this is a common cause of unwanted tech toe releases.

Step-In GuidanceWhen the binding jaws are open, guidance tabs allow the user to accurately place their ISO 9523 boot toe for step in; the tabs retract when the binding is closed.

No-Slip PU Lined Toe Socket

Heel

Energy Absorbing HeelThe ION heelpiece is set with no gap between boot heel and heelpiece, but moves rearward in response to pressure so your ski can flex naturally without putting pressure on the toe unit.

One Tool Release AdjustmentBoth lateral and vertical release values are adjustable with a Pozidrive #3 screwdriver.

Tour Mode

Bi-Directional Heel RotationION heels can be rotated in either the clockwise or counterclockwise position to tour, and the flip-up lifters work equally well in either position.

Manually Stowable BrakeWhen you rotate the heel into touring mode, the brake can either be clicked into stowed position by hand or left in the deployed position for security against potential runaway skis. The brake will retract into a locked, stowed position when first stepped on.
