This jacket is exceptionally warm, and holds up well against sporadic Washington state weather. It does not seem to stay wet too long after getting out of rainy weather. It would be nice though, if there was a hood. But, I do not mind a little rain, or I typically have an umbrella, so the lack of hood is not too big of a deal for me. I like the dark color so then I can pretty much wear anything with it, since matching is not one of my strongest skills. I love the big buttons, they make it easy to locate and they are just a beautiful style/color. If you are not wearing a turtleneck of high collared shirt I would recommend a scarf, or you can always flip up the down part next to where the collar of the jacket is. I do love this jacket, it looks good, feels good, and it just gets the job done.

I love this coat. It is super toasty and long enough to keep your legs warm. It was a really classic design and a great fit. My only issue is that the buttons sadly don't button high enough to keep out wind and cold without a scarf. Also my skin is sensitive so the wool around the collar gets a little itchy.

When I ordered this I was hoping it would be a sort of blend between a feminine tweed trench coat and a more militaristic peacoat (ok, I guess that's more navy than army, but whatever). Well, when I pulled it out of the box, I couldn't have been happier. It's gorgeous and has just enough weight to it that it really feels significant when you hold it in your hands. Putting it on was even better - it tapers at the waist in a really flattering way, without being overly girly or distractingly constructed. Overall, it feels really unique, but the classic tailoring ensures it doesn't stray too far into a "costume" piece. (Though, I have to admit, I feel a little like a female Javert from Les Miz when I wear it.) (If you're not sure, that's an AWESOME thing.)
