Comments about Salomon Reflex II Jacket - Women's:
I really love this jacket. I was looking for a jacket I could wear on the mountain that was warm but less bulky than my two-piece North Face jacket (which I still prefer to wear when it's really cold outside or there's a lot of precipitations, due to the Gore-Tex lining). As a snowboarder, I also wanted something that was roomy enough to not feel constraining and was long enough to cover my bum when I may need to take a seat to adjust my bindings when getting off the lift. However, I still wanted something cute and stylish, that wasn't so loud in color that it would clash with some of my non-neutral snowboard pants. I got this jacket in the Dark Blue Violet, and really like the color - not too loud, yet the pops of fuschia make it pretty special.
Plus, this is a seriously warm jacket with a great streamlined look with minimal bulk (though I can still fit a hoodie and my baselayers underneath if I wanted to; though if it's that cold, I wear my two-piece North Face), and lots of pockets and awesome technical features (i.e. the left pocket has a really convenient goggle wipe) that make it great for a day on the mountain. I also really like that the hood is removable for versatility, though I've found it to be convenient to have on when the wind starts to blow. Overall, an excellent jacket
If I could change anything, I would want a removable powder skirt so that this jacket could perform equally as well as street wear. Also, the pictures of the "extended hand warmers" are a bit misleading. Without a thumb-hole, these just bunch at my wrists, which is fine, as it creates a tight seat that keeps the cold out, but if they were a bit longer with a thumb hole (and the powder skirt was removable), I'd have rated this jacket a definite 5.
Bottom Line: Super functional, warm, and stylish jacket for snowboarders and skiiers alike!
