You don't have to be from Seattle to love the Ride Ballard Jacket; although if you are, you might like it a little extra. That's because it features 10,000 mm of waterproofing and 5,000 g of breathability, along with an Aquapel™ DWR treatment. That means you'll have the right kind of protection you need in wetter climates. Act IV™ insulation keeps your core warm on even the coldest of days. The classic long fit of this jacket means that you have plenty of room for layering and won't be getting pow down your pants - always a plus.
Aquapel™ by Nano-Tec® Aquapel™ is an invisible water-repellent finish that permanently attaches to the fibers in the fabric, as opposed to coating the surface. Water will then bead up and roll off the material. Aquapel™ can withstand 30+ wash cycles with gentle detergent and should be tumble dried on low to help reactivate the finish.
Strata HD™ 10 Ride’s laminate technology that balances waterproof protection, breathability and durability. Strata HD™ prevents water and snow from getting in while any internal perspiration is forced to the exterior where it then evaporates. In translation you stay warm and dry.
Act IV™ Active Core Temperature System - Fully insulated outerwear for those that fight to keep their core warm on the coldest of days.

Comments about Ride Ballard Insulated Jacket:
I bought this jacket and used it on a trip to Utah. I found it to be warm but the vents worked well on warmer days to cool things down. The waterproofing seemed to work really well and I'm interested to see how the renewing of the waterproofing works when the time comes. Ride indicates the waterproofing can be restored simply by washing under specific conditions which is interesting. Pass pocket was perfectly located. The fit is comfortable. So far I am happy all around.
