Comments about Outdoor Research Aspenglow Jacket - Women's:

I am a 5' 3" female, 133 lbs, 36B chest. I ordered a medium so I would have room to layer. Fit perfect with layers but a little big with only a base layer.

I searched and searched and this was the only jacket I found on the market at an affordable price that had the following must have features:
*pit zips for dumping heat
*water/wind resistant
*integrated RECCO
*integrated powder skirt
*zip-off hood
*audio device pocket
*goggle pocket
*interior storage pocket
*ski pass pocket on sleeve

The jacket is awesome! I'm a new snowboarder so am spending a lot of time prone on the snow. Jacket has very good water and wind resistance. We have electronic ski gates on our mountain, which don't always work well. Having the ski-pass sleeve pocket makes waving the pass at the gate sensor very easy. I'm also new to back-country skiing. Having the RECCO integrated in the sleeve as an added safety device is exceptional. Lots of pockets for all your goodies. There's a headphone jack hole in the audio device pocket. This pocket has an integrated mini interior pocket if your sound device is small, like the iPod Nano. The powder skirt tails snap out of the way when you don't need them. The off center zipper gives it a cool, casual coat style. This jacket is very warm. I've found that I only need to wear a base layer when out on the mountain. Since I'm new at snowboarding, I'm working hard and can get quite hot. The pit zips are helpful, but I found that I was wishing I had a tank top on underneath on a sunny low 40s day on the mountain. When less active, the jacket is quite comfortable with layers.

The only problems I've found is that without a helmet, the hood flops over my eyes and I can't see ahead. This means the jacket can't be used as a walk about town rain/snow jacket where you might need a hood. Also, the sleeves are long, and I have long arms. But there is Velcro on the end of the sleeve that lets you tighten at the wrist.

Overall, this is one of the best jackets I've purchased.

Comments about Outdoor Research Aspenglow Jacket - Women's:

The coat is great, but I ordered a medium first, which was huge, then a small, which was still too big. I'm disappointed because I really like the jacket, but now can't find it in extra small. I'm 5'7 115lbs. It does have good length and the sleeves are long, which is good for us long limbed people!

Comments about Outdoor Research Aspenglow Jacket - Women's:

I would recommend this jacket to a tall person as it has good length in sleeve and body. I am 5'10, 135 lb and got the size medium, but could have got away with a small if I desired a more trim fit. I am a snowboarder so I was looking for more of a relaxed fit that I can put tons of layers under. I like that this jacket is not stiff like my other gortex one. Did have an issue with powder skirt riding up for some reason. Overall stylish and high quality for great sale price!

Comments about Outdoor Research Aspenglow Jacket - Women's:

I bought this as a gift for my teenager. For her a jacket has to LOOK good first, for me it has to protect her from the elements. This jacket does both. Like all OR products from recent years, this jacket continues the trend of high functionality and stylish design. My daughter loves it. The lock down mechanism which prevents the powder skirt from riding up the back inside the jacket, is just but one example of simple effective smart design. It has pockets in all the right places, internal and external. Pitzips, and all the usual extras are a given. Again, top quality and exceptional value.
