Product Info

The Giro Shiv 2 Helmet sticks it in the ribs of old-school skate buckets with a host of technical improvements that make it lighter, cooler and safer. This thing looks like your old hard shell street lid but it's made with In-Mold construction for lightness and features 8 big Super Cool™ vents with Weatherstrip™ shields.

Product Details

Construction

In-Mold ConstructionIn-Mold Construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet's impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows for better ventilation systems, making in-mold helmets lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.

Ventilation

Weatherstrip Vent ShieldsThese seal off vents in extremely cold conditions, using a Hook-and-Loop Fastener tab to open or close the vent, but can't be misplaced like vent plugs.

Super Cool™ VentsSuper Cool vents pull cool, fresh air into the helmet while pushing heat and stale air out. By maximizing efficiency and optimizing vent shapes, the collective cooling power of Super Cool vents helps to regulate your core temperature and keep you feeling fresh all day.

Comments about Giro Shiv 2 Helmet:

Wow! What a change from my old school heavy bern helmet. This helmet feels as light as a beanie on my skull and fits like a glove! The interior lining fit system makes it easy to size up the helmet to fit with or without a beanie. Due to the air holes on the helmet, a beanie is a definite must on those chilly and especially windy days on the mountain. I did not notice any shifting of the helmet on my noggin while sending rollers, pillows, and small cliffs. This is a fantastic helmet that I would recommend to any skier regardless of your ability.

Comments about Giro Shiv 2 Helmet:

I love this helmet so much. Not only is it good looking but it's lightweight, not too bulky looking and super comfortable. Liner is cozy but comes out easily so I can wear a beanie under it if i want. Not to mention that I got it on sale..score!

Comments about Giro Shiv 2 Helmet:

The Shiv 2 was all I wanted in a snowboarding helmet: lightweight, sturdy, matte black, and a touch of style. The Shiv 2 satisfies all of those requirements!

However, I am bummed about the goggle clip. The goggle clip is removable, but the screws used to place it on the helmet are not meant to be removed. I've only been able to remove one of the screws, but this left a hole in the helmet! A little disappointing these screws have to remain on the helmet, Giro.
