The Giro G9 is one of Giro’s best all around models and their TuneUps Wireless system delivers incredible stereo sound. Developed in conjunction with Motorola, the system consists of a pair of modular speaker pods that clip into either the ear pads of your helmet or the included DJ headset. Intuitive, easy to reach controls are located on the speaker pods and are simple to use, even in gloved hands.

  • EPS Liner:EPS offers the most consistent performance across a wide range of conditions. Gram for gram it absorbs more impact energy than other liner materials, plus it’s incredibly light. No other material brings all of these benefits together.
  • In-mold Construction:In-mold construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet’s impact-absorbing foam liner for extra durability without excess weight. The fusion process also allows us to sculpt better ventilation systems, so In-mold helmets can be lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.
  • In Form™ Fit System:The In Form™ Fit system makes it easy to dial in a custom fit in seconds – even with gloves on. An ergo-friendly dial at the base of the helmet provides up to 6cm of fit/feel adjustment and enhanced stability, and the system also offers vertical tuning of the helmet’s fore/aft position to match different goggles and head shapes.
  • Super Cool Vents:Super Cool vents pull cool, fresh air into the helmet while pushing heat and stale air out. By maximizing efficiency and optimizing vent shapes, the collective cooling power of Super Cool vents helps to regulate your core temperature and keep you feeling fresh all day.

      I use this helmet when I board and it means I can easily call using my iPhone 3GS - Voice Control. I can also listen to music all day on the mountain and have some tunes that keep me in the groove. It's pretty amazing. Wearing a helmet for safety couldn't be more fun.

          Great product overall. Function in very cold weather (below 20degF) is limited. The speakers would cut out every so often. I've also had issues with the speakers not completely working with iTouch. Play, pause and volume control work, but skip function does not.

          The additional headset allows use of headphones on both on and off the slopes. Great idea!!

            I purchased this to have music with me when I ride alone. I installed the headphone and tested them with an iPhone 3g which worked but only with some fiddling (an iphone problem, not the headset).
            The helmet is comfortable and I forget it's on most of the time. Usually realize I have left it one when I hop in my car to leave and it clunks on the door frame.

              I bought this helmet so I could use the bluetooth with my phone (nokia xpress music). It only works ok. I keep my phone in my top jacket pocket (about 18in away from the headphones) and the sound seems to cut out about every minute or so, which is really annoying. On top of that, the headphones are really bulky and look stupid. I now just use the helmet without the headphones and use the ear buds form my ipod. I wouldn't recommend this.

                Once its on, leave it on until you re-charge. The unit will not always re-start after turning off unless you re-charge. But, the batteries have always lasted a full ski day, plus. The fast foward/skip function appears to be limited to use with motorola phones, volume and pause work fine with iphone.
