Might be one of the best made gloves ever-impeccable stitching and design.Great padding on the fingers for all sorts of tree skiing and protection in case of a fall (oomph off that cliff). My favorite gloves in great colors.

Comments about Hestra Vertical Cut Freeride Gloves:

This glove is excellent for myself (somebody who has virtually no circulation in his extremities) in milder winter weather. I use this glove alone down to -10C. Any lower than this and I add a thermal layer.

After about a month straight of abuse these have virtually no signs of wear, other than the fact these have become quite a bit more flexible.

Unfortunatly, the lack of wrist gaitors on North Face jackets coupled with the short cuff on these gloves results in some pretty cold wrists and wet gloves at the end of the day. However, when hanging besides the fire overnight they completely dry out.

Comments about Hestra Vertical Cut Freeride Gloves:

The Hestra Vertical Cut Freeride gloves are some of the best gloves I've ever owned. True to size, warm, great grip, etc.

However, you do need to treat these gloves with a leather balm every once in awhile to help maintain the leather, as well as ensure they stay waterproof.

Again, these gloves are the bomb and I highly recommend them.

Comments about Hestra Vertical Cut Freeride Gloves:

I really don't understand why anyone buys anything but Hestra. I've always had frigid fingers, whether I was buying some shop-sale brand or some supposed high-end leather racing gauntlet. I never knew what a full day was before Hestra. Yes, definitely more expensive than the others, but you're not saving money if you're carrying two or more pairs of cheap gloves. That being said, you can still get cold in Hestras. But you'll warm back up on the lift or in line. These fit a bit snugger than my other Hestra (guantlets) so I tend to use these for skiing where I like a solid pole grip feel. But I wouldn't move sizes on it.

Comments about Hestra Vertical Cut Freeride Gloves:

As an East Coast skier who get in a ton of time inbounds and BC, I almost never get more than a season or two out of gloves. For the past 10-15 years I have stuck with fabric (Gore-tex etc) gloves for their lightweight and breathability. I just never got everything I wanted out of the 8-10 pairs I have tried.

Truthfully, I was biased againt leather gloves. I always remembered the ones I had as a kid that were heavy, got wet all the time and froze up.

I heard great things about the Hestra gloves and took a chance. So glad I did. These are simply the best ski gloves I have ever owned. Great fit, comfortable, durable, warm...they have it all.

I treat them with Hestra balm a couplr of times a season and they stay totally waterproof and soft. They are warm so can be a little too much for spring skiing but other than that they are perfect.

If you are a serious skier do yourself a favor and buy these gloves!!
