Comments about Flylow B.A. Puffy Jacket:

I've put about 30 days on this jacket so far and its holding up perfectly. I'm 6' 180 lbs and the large is a right size. I've done anything from resort to backcountry and it does well with them all. Looks like a puffy, but not all that warm which is fine with me. Handles cold days easily with a couple layers underneath. Pit zips are huge for the warmer days.

Comments about Flylow B.A. Puffy Jacket:

This jacket stands up to wind well, looks sweet and keeps nice and dry in continental type snow; though I cannot speak for wetter snow types. They pockets are huge and the waterproof zippers work very well. The pit vents are open with no mesh, which keeps the zippers from getting stuck nicely. My one complaint about this coat is that while it is tough and stands up to a fair amount of abuse and tree skiing; if you hit the material hard enough on a sharp branch if will rip, and when it does it shreds.

Awesome cold day jacket. Haven't used it enough to give five stars. Great price, A used one recently sold for more $ than I paid on TGR gear swap. EVO provided great service. Received the coat two days after I placed the order.

Comments about Flylow B.A. Puffy Jacket:

I'm a huge fan of FlyLow pants for touring (love that flow-through venting), I have 3 pairs. But I never liked FlyLow jackets until this one. I'm a big guy (6'2", 220 lbs, 47" chest) and my XL FlyLow Higgins Jacket was just cut too small. By the time I put on a layer or two underneath, I felt like Michelin Man.

I found a BA Puffy on sale so I bought an XL. It is cut much roomier than the Higgins. And of course it has insulation, so less layers are needed underneath. Fits me perfectly. Plenty of inside pockets for sunglasses, compass, maps, etc. Super-warm helmet-compatible hood. For slackcountry days you can even stuff your skins into the inside mesh hip pockets, so you can ski without a backpack.

As with all Flylow gear, the venting is the best I've found.

The external fabric is very soft & comfy. When I first felt the fabric, I figured I'd be suffering constant holes in the shoulders from tree limbs, but my BA Puffy lasted the entire 2010-2011 season without needing any repairs at all - despite some wicked bush-whacking at Rogers Pass, Revelstoke, and PowMow.

If you don't hike or skin, there are zillions of great jackets out there which will all serve you well, but for backcountry / slackcountry you just can't beat Flylow.

Comments about Flylow B.A. Puffy Jacket:

I bought some Flylow gear this season, including the Puffy jacket. I love the style: roomy, cool colors (I got the orange and white puffy) and nice features (iPod-holding inner pocket, removable powder skirt). It's a nice jacket to have to throw on as a one-layer system. But I wouldn't consider this jacket to be highly technical. For its weight and bulk, it's not as warm as other garments I have. And sometimes I feel a cold breeze come through the zipper. I wouldn't take this on a long tour or ski mountaineering trip, but I have it with me while resort skiing, and it's great to wear when walking around town.
