Product Info

A lighter weight cousin of the Duke EPF, the Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings now feature the same 10 mm wider frame for increased power transmission with wider skis. Combined with a 4-13 DIN range, and an updated Triple Pivot Elite toe and Inter-Pivot Heel, the Baron EPF is a versatile all-mountain charger that will work equally well in the backcountry as doing hard lift-served laps.

Product Details

Toe

Triple Pivot Light ToeThis compact design features a horizontally oriented spring. The Triple Pivot Light toe offers a unique combination of light weight and solid power transmission.

Heel

Hollow Linkage HeelThe hollow linkage heel features a hollow horizontal axle that saves weight and maximizes power transmission, creating a light weight product with the phenomenal power transmission.

Tour Mode

0˚ / 7˚ / 13˚ Climbing AidThe climbing aid offers three positions, flat (0˚) / 7˚ / 13˚ which can easily be accessed with the ski pole, even in an unstable standing position. Integrated elastomer padding dampens the impact, reducing the irritating "clack" and allowing more comfortable hiking.

Backcountry TechnologyThe integrated climbing level features a safe, secure transition from ride to hike. The hiking aid offers flat, 7˚ and 13˚ positions. In ski mode, the BCT lever is protected from unwanted releases.

Additional Features

EPF - Extended Power FrameBigger, better and 28% wider. The screw pattern is 10 mm wider than before, providing unbelievable power transmission - how many people are skiing on wider skis than 5 years ago? EPF is designed for skis 89 mm and wider.

SmallFits boot sole lengths from 265-325 mm

Ski Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

Great for those like me who want both solid downhill feel in an AT binding with notably less weight than the Duke (which weighs more than some AT skis). Like the Duke it allows use of either downhill or AT boots (although changing off requires careful adjustment), making it perfect for inbounds/side-country use and a versatile binding for travel with one-ski quiver. For extended touring or one with hiking or climbing you'd probably want a much lighter dynafit-type binding.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

Great bindings. Pro's they ski and perform like Alpine bindings. Con's they are heavier than tech bindings. If you tend to do shorter tours and side country trips you can't beat these.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

Great bindings! Great for backcountry, great for resort. Only downside I have found is that you have to un-boot to convert to AT mode, unlike my other pair where you can go in to and out of AT mode with just a ski pole.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

These bindings work great! Used them on resort. There was great hold. Did a little trekking in them. They are a little heavy for trekking but if you are buying these for a pure trek then I would re-think your purchase.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

This is the second pair of Baron's I've bought and owned. This new pair is slightly wider to accommodate my Kiku's wider waist. The AT function is designed a little more user friendly this time around as it is much easier to adjust your heel height with your ski pole. These bindings are bomber in bounds and versatile when going into the backcountry. The are still HEAVY, but worth the extra weight in my opinion to ensure it can put up with the abuse of down-hilling.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

Great A/T binding - definitely seem sturdy enough to handle hard downhill skiing and aren't ridiculously heavy which would make touring difficult.
It's harder to find the "small" sizing for the Barons and I was happy to find them here at a discounted price.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

Love this binding for a learner such as myself. I am doing my first little jaunts up and down the mountain. And they work great for figuring it all out, while still supporting my need to charge down the mountain. I suspect as I become more dedicated to backcountry adventures, I'll want a dedicated setup but this is a great happy-medium for partially jumping in.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

These bindings are a great option to be primarily used in bounds skiing because of their weight (they're heavier than other AT bindings) but offer the option of going in the back country. I ski 90% in bounds and 10% out of bounds, so they are a perfect fit for me. Transitions from up to down with these bindings are quick and easy.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

As a racer, I prefer the stability and security of a racing binding over the loose feel of a touring binding...thats why the Marker Baron is the best of both worlds! Its easy to learn the adjustments and different settings. Also a great binding for carving big turns on the groomers, it has a lot of adaptability!

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

This is my second set of Barons. If you are going side country or or day touring they are great. Any long back country stuff you would want to go lighter. These will take all the hard thrashing you can throw at them in or out of bounds and still keep going. these are much lighter than the Dukes and still tough as nails. I am 5'10" and 175 Lbs so I do not need the high DIN setting on the Duke.

Comments about Marker Baron EPF Small Ski Bindings 2015:

Bindings were delivered in a timely manner. Easily to mount. Haven't tried them out yet but I can tell just by fooling around with them that I'll love them. The adjustability on them is great. I also love that they have the capability to hike with them. Will definitely come in handy in the backcountry!
